Five Card Blind

Recommended Posts

Original thread: http://forum.yugiohcardmaker.net/topic/138115-five-card-blind-looks-hilarious/

It's like the regular game, except for these rule changes:

1) Decks consist of exactly five cards, which start the game in the owner's hand. The deck is empty when the game begins.

2) The three-per-deck rule does not exist; you may use up to five copies of the same card.

3) You cannot lose due to being unable to draw; you will simply not draw in such circumstances.

4) The opponent of the owner of the source of any random effect determines the outcome of that effect. (Note that if a player's deck would need to be shuffled for some reason, this means that whichever player's car didn't cause the shuffle gets to stack it.)

5) The game assumes perfect information; thus, face-down cards are known to both players, and hands are face-up.

6) A deck is not permitted to be capable of winning the duel or of sending more than one card from the opponent's hand to any other location (field, Graveyard, RFP, deck) during Turn 1 or Turn 2, regardless of who goes first and of what the opponent's deck contains. (Thus, Mind Crush can't ever be used, as the opponent might run multiples of something.)

7) Tournaments are purely round-robin and are never single elimination.

 Matches consist of two duels, in which each player goes first once. Win both duels, earn six points; win one and tie one, earn four points; tie both or win one and lose one, earn two points; lose one and tie one, earn one point; lose both, earn nothing.

9) The current banlist does not apply; any card that is not Illegal (note that Illegal and Forbidden are not equivalent) is legal in this format. A special banlist can be made if necessary (using 5/0 logic, naturally), but beyond that, the only rule that governs what you can and can't put in your deck is Rule 6 above.

YCM, I command you to break this game as much as possible.

Hypothetically, the game becomes this^

I only half understand the play of this.

My Decks: (Offer Criticism/Repairs/Illegalities)
1 Exodius, the Ultimate Forbidden Lord

1 Maxx "C"

2 Effect Veiler

1 Solemn Judgement

1 Star Eater

Play: Discard Maxx "C", summon Exodius, normal 1 Veiler, make Star Eater, set Solemn.

2 Grinder Golem

1 Goblin King

1 Zerozerock

1 Royal Decree

Play: Summon Goblin King, activate Zerozerock and set Decree. Next turn summon 2 Grinders, giving yourself a 6000 ATK Gking, who cannot win yet.

1 Djinn Cursechanter

1 Djinn Releaser

1 Djinn Disserere

1 Demise, King of Armageddon

1 End of the World

Straightforward play.
I kind of want to build and test these on DN...

EDIT: Someone should make a test tournament for this. I dont think I have quite enough understanding of the gameplay to appropriately do so.

The logic makes perfect sense. The opening hand is considered BEFORE Turn 1. Meaning, it bypasses the rule of "cant win turn 1 or turn 2".

6.

deck is not permitted to be capable of winning the duel or of sending more than one card from the opponent's hand to any other location (field, Graveyard, RFP, deck) during Turn 1 or Turn 2, regardless of who goes first and of what the opponent's deck contains. (Thus, Mind Crush can't ever be used, as the opponent might run multiples of something.)

Logic/10

Exodia still doesn't work here.
You win upon getting all 5 pieces, doesn't matter if you have to wait until [X] turns or not. Hence why you can't use Exodia.
We even debated Exodia back in that 2009 thread; You literally cannot use it.

Also, if you wanted to be pro, you would use something like Grand Mole + 4x Solemn Judgment.

Thank you. :)

Anyone have any advice/issues with my decks? None of them would be the meta if this had any kind of meta, probably.

Dodger Dragon
Kunai with Chain
Judgment x3

Seems pretty amusing as a deck, now that I think about it.

Seems like just a different but practically the same take on standard "decent sized monster with opp stuff negation" deck, though I suppose thats really the best kind of deck on this format.

...Never said it was the best.
Just, Dodger is immune to Judgment, and your Judgments could just kill stuff like Bottomless.

It is, and it isn't.
It is, because everyone can spam Solemns
It isn't, because you can basically do 5x Exchange to screw over your opponent.

Didnt they decide in the old thread 5 exchanges was illegal? I think they then concluded 4 was fine, though.
