Dog King
Spell Card Draw 1 card, then your opponent gains 1000 Life Points. Reveal the top 3 cards of your Deck, add 1 of them to your hand, then shuffle the rest back into your Deck. You can only activate 1 "Pot of Duality" per turn. You cannot Special Summon during the turn you activate this card. I want to discuss whats better atm for consistancy while Also if you use both, and you draw both, which one is better to use first? goddamnit names are a pain
I always prefer Upstart. I typically hate cards that restrict SS. A lot of people can argue how good POD is, but I just don't like it. Also, Upstart helps me setup into other things when I am playing it. I play it in DW and ZW, and both lead to some great plays. Blake
Upstart first. It thins out the deck, if even by a little, in order to have more prime results with Duality. Niche cases where the other way is better can happen, surely, but you're more likely to hit something good off of Upstart than Duality than vice-versa in general. Plus Upstart doesn't guarantee you aren't making plays that turn, so i you get something good off of Upstart you can preserve the Duality for later. Althemia
Upstart in the top contender decks like Fire Fist and Hieratic Rulers.Duality in anything else that needs to dig into side board options faster.
ihop
As Patrick Hoban says - I'll play my 37 card deck and you'll play your 40 card deck, and we'll see who gets to their power cards first. Upstart is a great card this format and has been pretty good for a while now. Duality is also pretty decent in slower decks.
Alastar Rainford
I find that each card has its place in decks. I.e: Artifacts,Ghostricks, Monarchs can utilize pot verry well while most decks that use Upstart don't need to worry about the extra K of Lp. Slinky
Always go with search cards before draw cards. As you could draw what you wanted to search, and varying on the deck, could make the search card dead. That said, Duality isnt considered a search card, so I'd say it wouldn't really matter what order you use it in aside from Sylvans. If you /know/ whats there, and what you want is the top ard, Upstart, otherwise. Duality.
