I'm going to do a deconstruction of two genres, spy films and time travel, and put the into a manga or novel.

Okay, so I know it's gonna be nearly impossible, but I want to give a try at deconstructing two genres at the same time, time travel and spy films. I posted this because I need opinions, ideas, and advice. Also, the two things that are going to be my basis for genre deconstruction are Steins;Gate and The Bourne Trilogy (I only saw the third one, very good movie). I'll post more when I start writing. So, also discuss deconstruction in general, and this idea I have.

There's no industry for manga here in North America. Even in Japan, work as a mangaka is hard and unrewarding.

I assume you already have a plot?

IDK, about time travel, don't see that a lot, didn't even think it was really a genre, but a spy deconstruction could have a cowardly, self-serving protagonist, maybe he was forced into the career for some reason, and basically have everything go wrong, make him fail numerous times, miserably and maybe even lose an arm or something and lose his career.

That sucks, but I still assumed that was the case. Someone should make a manga industry in the U.S. Anyway, the plot I have right now is basically a bunch of puzzle pieces that I need to put together. I'm almost done, so I'll post it in the next few hours, at the latest.

There was one, but they went bankrupt because there just isn't enough of a market. No one's going to make one any time soon after that happened.

There's also the mindset that "authentic Japanese manga is better than any American ripoff".

I'd say there totally is a market for manga in America, but not in the traditional sense.

There are two problems with manga in NA.

1) Anime/Manga fans are cheap bastards and refuse to pay for anything.

2) It's not tr000 manga its not Japanese!

No, you won't draw a manga and get it published.  The internet is the only solution.  Dat ad revenue.
