Name : Amaterasu Attribute : Fire Type : Pyro/Spirit ATK/DEFF: 3000/1900 Description: This card cannot be Special Summoned. This card returns to its owner's hand during the End Phase of the turn it is Normal Summoned or Flipped face-up. When this card is Normal Summoned or Flipped face-up, you can destroy other cards on the field. If this card inflicts battle damage to your opponent, they discard all cards in their hand NOTE: I choose Amaterasu as his name cz most of the spirit cards have a Shinto God's name on it. According to myth in Asia, Amaterasu, Tsukoyomi, and Susanoo are all gods. When Izanagi washed his face after escaping the underworld his left eye became the Sun Goddess, Amaterasu.. btw the image depicted in the card is not my own. but the card and its effect, I created it myself Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
kirur Posted January 31, 2014 Report Share Posted January 31, 2014 This card reminds me a bit of Beast King Barbaros but with a better resolution since it could easily dominate the game destroying the opponent's field and hand - Woah! I am a bit confused though, it's text says "you can destroy other cards on the field" does that mean ALL other cards on the field? Because if it is you should put that - destroy all other cards on the field. I think maybe you are right.. maybe if his effect was "Both player's discard their entire hand." True whatever you had on the field is dead too but, you still have a hand. There is a good reason for Chaos Emperor Dragon - Envoy of the End being banned. It's broken, overpowered, badly designed, is a walking OTK, and just an overall horrible card. Tributing 2 cards isn't that difficult so the on-summon destruction isn't as balanced as you think, as it is still a free 3000 (possible more) to your opponent. And then you have the last effect. Guaranteed activation? Check. Unless Veiler or Fader, they're pretty much screwed. Insta-win? Check. Unless they pull a miracle, destroying the entire hand and the field means they lose. Chaos Emperor Dragon is banned for a reason. A problem this card has is that it won't be used just in Spirit decks, it'll be an OTK deck involving Frogs. tl;dr: card is extremely broken, ditch the discard effect or reduce to 1 card, add some sort of cost to the on-summon destruction. kirur Posted February 1, 2014 Report Share Posted February 1, 2014 I think you guys are right it is broken now that you mentioned frogs, yeah also if you're going for 3 Tributes I think it will lose the Spirit focus it should have been, perhaps just reading some of the other Spirit effects might give you an idea on how to balance this card out.. it does have potential though!
