Vylswarm Thorn - DARK

**********

Fairy/Effect

Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must be Special Summoned (From the hand) by banishing 2 LIGHT monsters, 1 DARK monster, and 2 Equip Spells from your graveyard, and cannot be Summoned other ways. When this card is Summoned: You may Equip up to 3 Equip Spells from the Graveyard to this card. This card equipped with an Equip Spell(s) cannot be targeted by card effects, other than the effects of Equip Spells.

ATK/3150 DEF/1950

Not-Support for Vylons. Also an lswarm because why not?

So it's a Vylon combined with Verz. If you have given a thought on it, I would like to know more about the this card's flavor: origin, purpose in the DT Storyline, etc. Judging from the stats, it seems to be a corrupted Vylon Omega. Also, I wonder what's its name would be in OCG, since lswarm = Verz.

Anyways, the card may be a pain to Summon (something that can be "fixed" with a dedicated deck), but it truly pays off with a really threatening effect. Once it is equipped, it is only vulnerable to Dark Hole, Mirror Force, Exciton and other non-splashable mass-removal effects, which is unfair. And to make things worse, it can equip itself during either player's turn so if you didn't manage to destroy it during the turn you removed all of its Equips, if will re-equip again as soon as in the next turn and you will be back to square one.

My suggestion would be to remove the OPT effect and instead equip 2~3 Equip Spells when it is Special Summoned. That way, if it loses all its equips, you would have to draw or obtain Equips through other means to re-equip it and restore the protection effect, which is way more fair than a equipping a Spell by itself every turn.

For the flavor, I more made it as the boss monster for one of my Characters when they're corrupted, since their decks all focus on equip spells. Originally it wasn't an lswarm really, but I realized the pun with "Vyl" (Sounds like "Vile") and I kind of jumped on it; It was originally Vyloswarm. Thorn was chosen as a Letter in a non-greek alphabet that I feel is prominent (it's "th") to contrast with the Greek alphabet-focused Vylon Synchros.

For story line, I would imagine it's the success of the verz at manipulating (See: Evilswarm Golem and Coppelia) and breaking through Omega's defenses to try and counter-act the increasingly threatening Constellars, as something that is non-xyz, and feeds off the ruined Vylon soldiers and equipment.

As for OCG name...I dunno, prolly something like what Exciton was originally translated as.

Changed Effect to equip 3 on Summon. Might ramp it to 2 DARKS or modify the ATK/DEF stats since it can be used in Noble Knights...

Thanks for the answer.

The high ATK was also one of my concerns, but since it is meant to be corrupted Omega, I didn't want to suggest anything that would affect the card's flavor. But I guess you could just say that Thorn is a corrupted Epsilon instead, who has 2800 ATK, a bit more fair for a main Deck boss.

2200/1100 actually. Not high enough for a main Deck Boss in my opinion, unless you combine it with Mage Power, United We Stand, etc. It might be actually fine, after all.

Well, the lswarms have adjusted the stats before. Just make it beefier to make it more useful.
