Lightning Lava Lizard - DARK

Reptile/Effect

Cannot be Special Summoned from the graveyard. Banish 1 LIGHT Monster and 1 FIRE Monster from your graveyard: Special Summon this card (From the hand). Once per turn, if a Spell or Trap would target this card: You may negate the effects of that Spell or Trap and Destroy it. When this card is destroyed by battle or a Monster effect: Destroy 1 card on the field, and if it was a monster, inflict 800 Damage to your opponent.

ATK/2600 DEF/200

 

Worried that if I change it to Thunder and Pyro, it would be more difficult to use (Too much so), but LIGHT and FIRE seems too generic, and if I change it to a type and attribute, it feels disjointed.

Eh.

Change it to requiring the banishment of 1 LIGHT and 1 FIRE monster and nerf it a bit. That way, it will more of a LIGHT/FIRE counterpart of Dark Simorgh, and it will be easier to drop. Changing its own Attribute to LIGHT or FIRE would help too; I don't really get why it is DARK.

 

Then, this has 3 effects, which I believe is too much for a single monster. Personally, I would get rid of the anti-targeting effect because, in combination with the last effect, it turns the card into a real pain to deal with: you can't remove it with stuff like Dimensional Prison, and if you destroy it through any means (by battle, monster effect, Dark Hole, TT, Mirror Force, BTH,etc.) it punishes you by destroying a card of yours.

But you really want the keep this effect, then just remove the ATK-boosting effect, which is more of an overkill.

The "Being DARK" bit is for flavor for who/what I based it around. I might change it to both, but eh...

I've edited the Anti-Target, and destruction effect.
