AGATHODAIMON BANGTAIL COW
When this card is Normal Summoned: You can target 1 Attack Position monster on the field; change it to face-up Defense Position, and if you do, it loses 500 DEF. When this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle: Draw 2 cards. Card reliance makes it bad, but it's Pot of Greed on legs, so it really should rely on something to get the draw effect off. The first effect is situational in actually being useful but does make it slightly easier for this to do things on its own. Slap an equip on it, play Lance or Shrink, even Riryoku, and you can use this pretty well. Now, for the flavor. This character is supposed to be someone who defeats monsters and other things in order to use them to get things created, like how those people illegally kill elephants for ivory. By destroying a monster by battle, Ghanyta allows you to use that monster to draw cards from your Deck. Being skilled at this art, she can sneak up upon these monsters and take them down without having to fight them straight-up, evidenced by her Normal Summon effect. Now, why is she a mercenary, you may ask. The most common definition of mercenary is "A professional soldier hired to serve in a foreign army." However, there is an adjective definition of the word as well, meaning "Primarily concerned with making money at the expense of ethics" to describe their behavior. This could be described to explain why she kills monsters for their body parts, but it also could mean something much more sinister. Ghanyta passes off as a monster hunter, but what most people don't know about her is that she is also brigand; attacking people for their collectibles. How would you manage to make cards out of monster hides anyway? Unless it's like... Ancient Tree of Enlightenment or Trent or something. Soooo, YCM, C&C and stuff. Should I give it more ATK and drop its draw to only one card?
goddamnit names are a pain
I was thinking we needed some kind of thing that let you draw two cards, but this is a bit much. One, he/she/it is a Warrior. RoTA, Magnum Shield, ETC makes this essentially a draw two every turn. In addition, things like Double Attack come to mind. I mean these are all gimmicks but easily abusable gimmicks at that. I do like the first effect though. Maybe nerf it to 1 card? I'm not sure. The thing is that this card is probably too fragile for it to actually use its effect a second time without things like Double Attack or Tryce's swords. Since it already can't run over much, you already need to buff it in order to make it work most of the time. It requires specific combos to work, and a lot of those combos would have you lose a card, which evens it to a situational +1. Double Attack is a -2, which would even itself back to a +0. Tryce's Swords are a -1, but its 500 debuff is somewhat big here. The gimmicks could only get out of hand if the opponent can't just blow it up for some odd reason. I could nerf it to one card, but only to make more playable and justify raising her to 1700-1800 ATK.
goddamnit names are a pain
That's fair, actually. You can keep it as is, I suppose.
AGATHODAIMON BANGTAIL COW
Bump in hopes that I'll be noticed by complete strangers. Or by people I kinda know. I don't know who's who anymore.
