recrafting the banlist, starting with blank slate list.

lets have a real serious discussion about how we the players would craft the banlist.

now, with NO banlist at all, what would be the meta decks.

obviously FTK damage and mills and alternate wins.

which ones should we start with?

 

each big jump on the changes, like moving down from FTKs to OTKs for banlist additions, will be a new thread. I will link them to each other as we go in the OP.

 

and as a fun part, I would love to see how would one fight the situation, with the cards we have available.

I feel like neko mane king would help on the FTK realm.

 

anyway, lets think about the ftks.

off the top of my head, we have

exodia

last turn

wind up hand kill

infinite mill/ infinite effect damage combos.

the 8000 effect damage combos

then to stop these decks

the absolute shutdown hand trap anti deck that runs 1 penguin knight to stop mill.

 

does this game have a turn 0 win combo? as in, during my opponent's turn in the end phase, can I do that?

 

now then. just banning the alternate wins, doesn't actually fix the FTK meta here, so lets just let that one go.

 

exodia head- ban

last turn- ban

 

whats next?

Honestly this thread is slightly pointless. There is no point "recrafting" the banlist and starting fresh because most of it will end up the same as it is anyway. People have it in their mind that Konami are completely out of touch but that isn't really the case. They make a good deal of questionable decisions about banlists but honestly, most things on the list are there because they should be. If I came up with a list of what I think would be best for the game, most of the cards would be where they are now with probably 15-20 changes.
