Trebuchet MS
Quick-Play Spell Target 1 face-up Xyz Monster that has an Xyz Monster(s) as its Xyz Material; randomly select 1 of that target's Xyz Monster Xyz Material, then send the top card of the pile to the Graveyard, and place the selected Xyz Material on the top of the pile. The idea for this card came to me when I looked through some old Duel Masters cards. There, Evolution Creatures work similarly to Xyz Monsters, forming piles on top of a monster (yes, you can evolve and Evolution Creature for a thicker pile.). Then there were a few cards that dealt with Evolution Creatures by sending the top card of the pile to the Graveyard. So I figured, why not make a similar card that would function as a direct Rank-Up-Magic reversal process? Thing is, if I just word it as "send the top card of that Xyz Monster" to the Graveyard and the rest of the Xyz Materials are non-Xyz monsters, we'll have trouble. And, players may work around this by purposely rearranging the order of the Xyz Material pile. Hence the rather convoluted-looking wording that simply changes 1 Xyz Monster into 1 of the Xyz Monsters underneath it. No monsters are Special Summoned during the whole process, by the way. Progenitor
Is it really called a pile? Weird. I like the idea of burning Xyz Materials, and the fact that it hits rank-ups makes it all the better. The only thing is that most rank-up type cards gain effects when the lesser version is an material, and this card makes it so like 8/10 times that card cannot be the one sent to the grave, so really there is not much difference in specifically hitting a rank-up type card, cuz at the end of the day you are just burning materials. Not simply burning Materials, but outright changing the monster that's present. Like reversing the Rank-Up process.

Oooooooh now I see. I thought you were just re-organizing the mats.
