Activate this card when your opponent Xyz Summons a monster: Target that monster; detach all Xyz Materials from it. If that target leaves the field, send this card to the Graveyard. Face-up Xyz Monsters cannot attack or activate their effects.
A card hailing from one of my contest entries, though I've toned down its power level a little.

The original purpose of this card was to counter a particularly badly-designed Xyz Monster. Said monster possessed a crazy on-Summon and Ignition effect, so I had this card created as the ultimate insult - not just simply negating its effects and ability to attack like a customized Fiendish Chain, but also sapping away all its Materials to leave it utterly powerless even after this card leaves the field.

The symmetrical effect of preventing Xyz Monsters from attacking or activating their effects also serves to differentiate it from Fiendish Chain. But simply disrupting only the opponent's monsters make it too one-sided, no?

I think a card that just zaps away xyz materials would be amazing, this contiuous effect is a dream to people who dread the xyz cards, however the only side effect is that it is a continuous card, and that means that it will hog one of your magic slots. Combining this card with a "Naturia Bamboo Shoot" effect would shut down all enemies hopes of activating traps and spells, combine it with this card... let's just say the player would need one of those special high attack cards greater then 2000 points in order to take it out.

I'd say this card needs a cost to maintain this on play, even when this affects both players; Some xyz monsters are unfair though and this would compensate. I like the idea, simple and devastating.

What if it destroys itself if the card it's targeting leaves the field?

Updated by making this card go to the Graveyard if its original target left the field. Used "send to Graveyard" rather than "destroy" to avoid abuse with Imperial Custom.

What happens if the opponent uses the target as Xyz Material? Well, that won't be the smartest thing to do, would it?
