TFMegamanlan
If a Monster(s) you control would be destroyed by an Opponent's card effect: Change all Monsters to Face-up Defense Position. While this card is in your Graveyard after being activated and you control a Face-up Spell Card, apply the following effects: • You can Normal Summon monsters in Face-up Defense Position. • Face-up "Crystal Beast" monsters cannot leave the field except by being destroyed. • During your Opponent's Standby Phase: Your Opponent can discard 1 card and skip their Main Phase 1 to Banish this card and gain 500 Lifepoints for each Face-up Spell card. You can only activate 1 "Crystal Circle Wave" per Duel.
This was a little idea I thought up that could help Crystal Beasts get past some of their problems. 1. The problem of a Card effect destroying a Face-down Crystal Beast which means its effect can't activate. 2. Being able to play defensively while having better Field presence. 3. Protecting Crystal Beasts from being forced to leave the Field without allowing their effects to go off. 4. A way that an Opponent can get rid of this card if it's too much trouble for them. I'm not so sure I like the way to get rid of this card, but any/all suggestions are welcome. One thought I was thinking of changing it too would be: "Your Opponent may Negate the activation or Summon of a card they control, and return it to their Deck to Banish this card." Let me know if you think that would work or not. I'm also fairly sure that at least some of the OCG Grammar is wrong, so accurate corrections are also welcome. So let me know what you think of this card! Good, Bad? OP? Let me know!
Trebuchet MS
If your Opponent's card effect destroy When a monster(s) you control is destroyed by an opponent's card effect: Switch Change all monsters to Face-up Defense Position Mode. While this card is in your Graveyard and you control a Face-up Continuous Spell Card, you can activate apply the following effects: • You can Normal Summon monsters in face-up Defense Position. • Face-up "Crystal Beast" monsters cannot leave the field except by being destroyed. • If a monster is would be Summoned: You can banish this card from your Graveyard; negate that Summon and return it to the Owner's Deck. You can only activate 1 "Crystal Circle Wave" per Duel. Strong. Too strong. Never mind that the initial activation effect is wimpy. This card does too many things just by being in the Graveyard. Preventing Crystal Beasts from leaving the field except by destruction of any form is crazy - you can't send them to the Graveyard, you can't Tribute them, you can't bounce or shuffle them. Admittedly, they're weak enough to be squashed in battle, and this form of "protection" also locks out attempts to Tribute them or Synchro with them, but if a problem card is also protected with an indestructibility effect, this has issues. Based on how the card text is worded, the Summon negation is unrestricted by the "once per Duel" restriction. Who needs to manually activate it when you can just discard or mill it? Ultimately, cards that apply continuous effects from the Graveyard are particularly powerful, especially with the lack of non-monster Graveyard hate. TFMegamanlan
I might change it so that the effects (all the eff's) can only be activated if this card was activated. Again, that's why I specifically wanted to put that an Opponent can do something to get rid of this card that wasn't hard for most decks to do, but wasn't exactly helpful for the Opponent either. But I am looking for suggestions for what that third effect could be that would get it out of the Grave.
