VlausHieme
Handshake Mechanic [making this a thing]An archetype focuses on your opponent accepting or declining your handshake. It will not be like the arcana force that all one result will be good and the other will be bad, your opponent will have to pay attention to see if accepting handshake effect or the declining handshake effect will better for them or not. One slip up can result in their doom. "When something happens your opponent pick one of the these effect of this monster then, you activate that effect". The opponent can play around them and since, they are making the decisions with a little planning and thought can win. The opponent is not going let the Akugesshu Player get the adds or searches they want, for the most part. Tarragon needs to inflict battle damage to get his effect and your opponent decides which one you get. The opponent can accept/decline but, if there is nothing on the field (basilisk and wyrm) or in the grave (Tarragon and Drake), the effect will not resolve which, means that effect did not even help you out. Non-destroying effect and or effects that banishes are good against this archetype.Akugesshu Tarragon Level 4 DARK Fiend-Type non-Tuner Effect monster (A)1800 (D)1100You can only use this effect of "Akugesshu Tarragon" once per turn. If this card inflict battle Damage to your Opponent's Life Points : Offer your opponent a handshake.● If they accept your handshake: Each player draws 1 card, then each player discards 1 card.● If they decline your handshake: add 1 "Akugesshu" Spell or Trap card from your Graveyard to your hand.Akugesshu Drake Level 4 DARK Fiend-Type Tuner Effect monster (A)1900 (D)1300You can only use this effect of "Akugesshu Drake" once per turn. When this card is sent to the Graveyard: Offer your opponent a handshake.● If they accept your handshake: Draw 1 card.● If they decline your handshake: Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower Fiend-Type monster from your Graveyard except "Akugesshu Drake".Akugesshu Hydra Level 4 DARK Fiend-Type non-Tuner Effect monster (A)1600 (D)2000You can only use this effect of "Akugesshu Hydra" once per turn. During either player's turn while this card is in the Graveyard except the turn this card was sent to the Graveyard, When a face-up level 4 or lower "Akugesshu" monster except "Akugesshu Hydra" in your possession is destroyed by your opponent's card (either by battle, or by card effect): Offer your opponent a handshake.● If they accept your handshake: Special Summon 1 "Akugesshu Hydra" from your Deck or Graveyard.● If they decline your handshake: add 1 "Akugesshu" Spell or Trap card from your Deck to your hand.Akugesshu Wyvern Level 4 DARK Fiend-Type Tuner Effect monster (A)1700 (D)1500You can only use this effect of "Akugesshu Wyvern" once per turn. If this card is Summoned: Offer your opponent a handshake.● If they accept your handshake: add 1 Level 4 or lower Fiend-Type monster from your Deck except "Akugesshu Wyvern" to your hand.● If they decline your handshake: Inflict 500 Damage to your opponent's Life PointsAkugesshu Basilisk Level 4 DARK Fiend-Type non-Tuner Effect monster (A)2100 (D)1400This card can not attack Directly. You can only use this effect of "Akugesshu Basilisk" once per turn. During either's players turn, you can banish 1 "Akugesshu" monster in your Graveyard then, discard this: Offer your opponent a handshake.● If they accept your handshake: Destroy 1 card on the field then, shuffle up to 5 "Akugesshu" cards except "Akugesshu Basilisk" in your Graveyard into Deck.● If they decline your handshake: return 1 card on the field to the hand then each player adds 1 card in their Graveyard to their hand, then each player discards 1 card.Akugesshu Wyrm Level 4 DARK Fiend-Type non-Tuner Effect monster (A)1000 (D)1200This card can attack Directly. You can only use this effect of "Akugesshu Wyrm" once per turn. During either's players turn except the turn this card was sent to the Graveyard, while this card is in your Graveyard when a monster is Special Summoned, you can tribute 1 monster you control to Special Summon this card from your Graveyard then, Offer your opponent a handshake.● If they accept your handshake: Banish 1 card on the field.● If they decline your handshake: Until your opponent's Next End Phase, neither player can Special Summon more than once per turn.Akugesshu Portal Gate, Akugesshu Realm: Field Spell CardAll monsters except "Akugesshu" monsters loses 300 ATK and DEF. Once per turn during your Main Phase you can Banish, from your side of the field or your Graveyard, the Fusion Material Monsters that are listed on an "Akugesshu" Fusion Monster Card, then Special Summon that Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck. (This Special Summon is treated as a Fusion Summon.) Once per turn during either player's turn If a "Akugesshu" monster you control battles you can target 1 face-up card on the field and negates it's effects until the End Phase. While this card is in the Graveyard you can banish 1 "Akugesshu Spell" card except "Akugesshu Portal Gate, Akugesshu Realm" in your Graveyard to add this card to your hand.Akugesshu Shiny Core: Quick-Play Spell CardSpecial Summon 3 "Akugesshu Tokens" (Fiend-Type/LIGHT/Level 1/ATK 2000/DEF 0) in Defense Position. These Tokens cannot be Tributed for a Tribute Summon or Synchro Material for a Synchro Summon. You cannot Summon other monsters except DARK monsters the turn you activate this card.Akugesshu Shimmering Darkness: Quick-Play Spell CardAll face-up "Akugesshu" monsters you currently control become LIGHT monsters then, all face-up "Akugesshu" monsters you currently control are unaffected by other Spell/Trap effects this turn.Akugesshu Flash Bang: Quick-Play Spell CardTribute 1 "Akugesshu" monster to target 1 monster on the field; return that target to the hand then, all face-up "Akugesshu" monsters you currently control become LIGHT monsters.Akugesshu Blistering Creep: Counter Trap CardWhen your opponent activates a Spell/Trap Card, or monster effect, while you control a face-up Attack Position level 4 or lower "Akugesshu" monster, destroy 1 other card you control; Negate the activation, and if you do, destroy that card.Akugesshu Master Level 8 LIGHT Dragon-Type Tuner Effect monster (A)3000 (D)25001 "Akugesshu" monster + 1 LIGHT monster + 1 DARK monsterMust first be Fusion Summoned. During either player's turn you can banish this card to Special Summon up to 3 "Akugesshu Tokenw" (Fiend-Type/LIGHT/Level 1/ATK 2000/DEF 0) in Defense Position. These Tokens cannot be Tributed for a Tribute Summon or Synchro Material for a Synchro Summon. You cannot Summon other monsters except DARK monsters the turn you activate this card. When a monster would be Summoned OR a Spell/Trap Card is activated, you can tribute this card and if you do; destroy up to 2 cards on the field, you can only activate this effect of "Akugesshu Mater" once per turn. When this card is Sent to the Graveyard send up to 3 of your banished "Akugesshu" cards except "Akugesshu Master" to the Graveyard. While this card is in the Graveyard you can play 1000 Life Points to return this card to your Extra Deck.Your thoughts?
Dracoswag
These cards would cause for very awkward player interaction. There is a reason only 1 card in Yu-Gi-Oh history exists of this nature.
Trebuchet MS
At the moment, there are no ways for you to force the handshake. So why not just have the cards force the opponent to choose between the effects, in a similar vein to Dark Coffin?

In Duel Chat Box type in "accept or not?" I was simply giving my consensus on the concept, and just because I did not state "Oh these cards are balanced 10/10" does not mean I did not read the cards. Not every post will be a full-fledged review, and besides, a card mechanic that causes player interaction beyond player interaction is a complicated subject to discuss, so it is not exactly a reason to jump the gun and assume we do not care (but I do not speak for everyone.) I agree with Gadjiltrons post about making these cards based off the effect like Dark Coffin. It has a similar effect and forces your opponent to make a 'Decision' based on that effect. As for the cards themselves, the support seems decent, but based on their effects there does not seem to be any negatives with their support, which means no matter what choice outcome of the Handshake, you get some form of advantage over your Opponent. Trebuchet MS
Poor Post quality. Did not even mention how EACH card is balanced or nothing, just 2 sentences. Are the cards balance or what? Poor Post quality. Responds to everyone with roughly the same standardized sentence before actually giving a proper response. Alright then. I'll give you some post quality. I'll read through every single one of your cards and correct any card text errors along the way. This makes sure I'm not simply skimming through them.
You can only use the effect of "Akugesshu Tarragon" once per turn. If this card inflicts battle damage to your opponent's Life Points: Offer your opponent a handshake. ● If they accept your handshake: Each player draws 1 card, then each player discards 1 card. ● If they decline your handshake: Add 1 "Akugesshu" Spell or Trap card from your Graveyard to your hand.
Opponent would most likely accept the handshake, as it's a +1 for you if they decline, unless your Graveyard is devoid of Akugesshu S/Ts. Plus, because the accept effect is symmetrical, it also presents the opponent to set up their Graveyard or sift through unneeded cards in hand.
You can only use the effect of "Akugesshu Drake" once per turn. When this card is sent to the Graveyard: Offer your opponent a handshake. ● If they accept your handshake: Draw 1 card. ● If they decline your handshake: Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower Fiend-Type monster from your Graveyard, except "Akugesshu Drake".
There are a number of ways to trigger this card, be it by discarding from prior effects, milling, Tributing, used for Fusion Material, etc. It's also worded such that it can't miss the timing. The fact that you get something out of it regardless of whether the opponent accepts or declines the handshake makes it the perfect Graveyard fodder. I won't be surprised if it's splashed around relentlessly outside its intended Deck. Maybe if you restrict the condition to "sent from the field to the Graveyard"...
You can only use the effect of "Akugesshu Hydra" once per turn. During either player's turn, while this card is in the Graveyard except the turn this card was sent to the Graveyard, when a face-up Level 4 or lower "Akugesshu" monster, except "Akugesshu Hydra", in your possession is destroyed by your opponent's card (either by battle, or by card effect) and this card is in your Graveyard: Offer your opponent a handshake. ● If they accept your handshake: Special Summon 1 "Akugesshu Hydra" from your Deck or Graveyard. ● If they decline your handshake: Add 1 "Akugesshu" Spell/Trap Card from your Deck to your hand.
Considering this card can't trigger on other copies of itself, the opponent would most likely accept the handshake as it effectively spawns another chump-blocker that would only absorb another attack. This is reinforced when declining the handshake means you getting the archetype's all-purpose negation Trap.
You can only use the effect of "Akugesshu Wyvern" once per turn. If this card is Summoned: Offer your opponent a handshake. ● If they accept your handshake: add 1 Level 4 or lower Fiend-Type monster from your Deck, except "Akugesshu Wyvern", to your hand. ● If they decline your handshake: Inflict 500 Damage to your opponent's Life Points.
Very certain the opponent will always choose the burn over the search effect unless they're on their very last ropes. The effect that happens when they decline could be better than just negligible burn.
This card cannot attack your opponent directly. You can only use the effect of "Akugesshu Basilisk" once per turn. During either's player's turn: you can discard this card; Offer your opponent a handshake. ● If they accept your handshake: Destroy 1 card on the field, then shuffle up to 5 "Akugesshu" cards except "Akugesshu Basilisk" in from your Graveyard into the Deck. ● If they decline your handshake: Return 1 card on the field to the hand, then each player adds 1 card in their Graveyard to their hand, then each player discards 1 card.
Opponent is most likely to decline the handshake under most circumstances, as they get an opportunity to trade a dead card in their hand with something already used.
This card can attack your opponent directly. You can only use the effect of "Akugesshu Wyrm" once per turn. During either's players turn, while this card is in your Graveyard when a monster is Special Summoned: You can Tribute 1 monster you control; to Special Summon this card from your Graveyard, then offer your opponent a handshake. ● If they accept your handshake: Banish 1 card on the field, then you gain 500 Life Points. ● If they decline your handshake: Until your opponent's next End Phase, neither player can Special Summon more than once per turn.
Most likely choice of the opponent is to decline the handshake - yes, they get a cap on the Special Summon frequency, but so will you. The SS cap will also unwittingly interact with the other Akugesshu effects, like Hydra, for example. Your opponent will accept the handshake and you get nothing out of it.
All monsters except "Akugesshu" monsters loses 200 ATK and DEF. Once per turn: You can during your Main Phase destroy 1 card you control and target 1 face-up "Akugesshu" monster you control and if you do; that targeted card becomes a LIGHT monster. Once per turn, during either player's turn, if exactly 1 "Akugesshu" monster you control can not would be destroyed by a card effect, it is not destroyed. If your opponent's monster targets a "Akugesshu" monster for a card monster effect or an attack: You can banish 1 card in your Graveyard and send the top card in your Deck to the Graveyard to target 1 "Akugesshu" monster you control; that target gains 500 ATK and DEF until the End Phase. When this card is destroyed by a card effect and sent to the Graveyard: Add 1 "Akugesshu Portal Gate, Akugesshu Realm" from your Graveyard or Deck to your hand.

All "Akugesshu" monsters gains 300 ATK and DEF. Once per turn: You can during your Main Phase banish, from your side of the field or your Graveyard, the Fusion Material Monsters that are listed on an "Akugesshu" Fusion Monster Card, then Special Summon that Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck. (This Special Summon is treated as a Fusion Summon.) If a "Akugesshu" monster you control battles: You can target 1 face-up card on the field; and negates its effects until the End Phase. While this card is in the Graveyard You can banish 1 "Akugesshu Portal, Broken Seal" in from your side of the field your Graveyard; or 1 "Akugesshu Portal, Broken Seal" you control to add this card from your Graveyard to your hand.
Bluntly put, Broken Seal is marginally better to keep on the field than Akugesshu Realm because of its anti-destruction effect. Akugesshu's main use feels more like a very narrow, 1-sided version of Fusion Gate. And with the plethora of S/T recursion and searching amidst the rest of the archetype, Akugesshu Realm's self-recursion effect is mostly redundant.
Special Summon 3 "Akugesshu Tokens" (Fiend-Type/LIGHT/Level 1/ATK 2000/DEF 0) in Defense Position. These Tokens cannot be Tributed for a Tribute Summon or used as Synchro Material for a Synchro Summon. You cannot Summon other monsters except DARK monsters the turn you activate this card.
Other than being simple beatsticks, Fusion Material, and fodder, what other purpose would these Tokens serve?
All face-up "Akugesshu" monsters you currently control become LIGHT monsters then, all face-up "Akugesshu" monsters you currently control and are unaffected by other Spell/Trap effects this turn.

Tribute 1 "Akugesshu" monster to target 1 monster on the field; return that target to the hand, then all face-up "Akugesshu" monsters you currently control become LIGHT monsters.
Not quite certain on why you would want to change the Akugesshu monsters to LIGHT. Since Akugesshu Master accepts any DARK and any LIGHT monster, it would be more sensible to either use a generic LIGHT monster (say, Effect Veiler), or even an Akugesshu Token from Shiny Core.
When your opponent activates a Spell/Trap Card, or monster effect, while you control a face-up Attack Position Level 4 or lower "Akugesshu" monster: Destroy 1 other card you control; negate the activation, and if you do, destroy it that card.
Rather standard for an archetype-exclusive "negate-all" counter trap. Because you're also destroying 1 additional card, this turns into a 2-for-1 negation. Still, it's a prime target for any of the archetype's S/T search and retrieval, making your opponent reluctant to take the option that lets you get this card. Add to the fact that most of the archetype replaces and retrieves and this card's additional cost becomes almost irrelevant.
1 "Akugesshu" monster + 1 LIGHT monster + 1 DARK monster Must first be Fusion Summoned. During either player's turn: You can banish this card; to Special Summon up to 3 "Akugesshu Tokens" (Fiend-Type/LIGHT/Level 1/ATK 2000/DEF 0) in Defense Position. These Tokens cannot be Tributed for a Tribute Summon or used as Synchro Material for a Synchro Summon. You cannot Summon other monsters except DARK monsters the turn you activate this effect card. During either player's turn, when a monster would be Summoned or a Spell/Trap Card is activated: You can Tribute this card and if you do; destroy to target up to 2 cards on the field; destroy those targets. When this card is sent to the Graveyard: Target send up to 3 banished cards; return those targets to the Graveyard. While this card is in the Graveyard You can play 1000 Life Points; to return this card from your Graveyard to your Extra Deck.
Considering how the latter 3 effects combo into each other, it gives people very little reason to use the self-banish effect - especially if its controller has the freedom to Tribute it to destroy cards at Spell Speed 2. All in all, I was mildly interested when the archetype was based around the opponent making (pseudo-)sadistic choices until the S/T support stopped doing that and began looking at the ability to change Attributes. It would be particularly interesting if you had support that railroads the decision to be made. I've also noticed that a lot of your effects don't target, resulting in anti-targeting protection being mostly moot.
VlausHieme
Made some edits: Realm has a once per turn clause, Broken seal is GONE, Wyrm's effect now includes "except the turn this card was sent to the Graveyard", Basilisk banishes 1 "Akugesshu" monster in the Graveyard before you discard it, master returns just your banished "Akugesshu" cards except any copy of master and, some others edits that I might have forgotten to mention at this moment.
