Banish 1 face-up monster you control. When opponent Summons a monster with the same Level/Rank as your banished monster: You can banish this card from your Graveyard; destroy that monster, then Special Summon your banished monster.

Interesting. Placing a soft lock on a specific Level/Rank can really restrict your opponent's plays, though with proper thought they can play around it.

Can you banish a Rank 4 monster to have this card destroy a newly Summoned Level 4 monster and vice-versa?

The card would be fine if you could banish a Rank 4 to destroy a Level 4, so don't change that. Its really interesting as it is and it kinda reminds me of Gold Sarc. You take the negative card advantage until a certain time when you can really benefit from it. Would be great in a slower format as a side-deck card because its not a trap and its from the Graveyard, meaning its really hard to negate. Doesn't target either. Its fine though because its balanced out by the initial cost, which slows down the opponent's plays.

Only thing is that it might cause some timing confusion being a Normal Spell that suddenly becomes a Spell Speed 2 effect from the Graveyard. Maybe change it to a Quick-Play to sort that out, though that might make it slightly too good.

I change it to Quick-Play Spell, to make it better.
