[Post-Contest] Leviathan, Ruler of the Seas

Lore:
Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must be Special Summoned (from your hand) by banishing 1 face-up WATER monster you control, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. When this card is Special Summoned, you can target 1 WATER monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target. It cannot attack this turn, also its effects are negated. You cannot Special Summon monsters the turn you use this effect, except WATER monsters. You can only use the effect of "Leviathan, Ruler of the Seas" once per turn.

So, I made this card in Rrrtttyyyuuuiii's "Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set Tournament" with Mermails in mind.

I have to say first that I'm not saying this because I envy with your victory over my card or anything, but honestly, instant Gaios/Sack/11 by just banishing Abysspike/urge after it done its job is too much imo, maybe you could have a drawback that prevent you from attacking with and/or using the effect of the Xyz monster that will be summoned using it.

I seriously thought my card was going to get downgraded for being unoriginal, since it is a pretty generic effect. Your card was much more creative than mine was, and hence, you probably should've won.

From my countings, if you want to do that in early turns, it will cost you 2 cards to summon those xyzs. It will cost 1 on your 2nd or 3rd turn onwards, it depends.

With Undine, you can do it for 1 card though. But that Genex Controller will mostly get stuck in your hand. (Please enlighten me for this last part.)

The "This card cant attack" part you give to the Xyz is so easily played around; Draco can just use a Token to blow up something, and Eye's own restriction just stacks on this one. So if your looking for some form of drawback to using this card as an Xyz Material, I would suggest you try going about it differently.

Sight edits to make the effect make more sense and  more balanced.

The fix, I feel, is incorrect. You have 2 Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set clauses. The Nomi wording is outdated. The colon is supposed to be a semicolon. The line "The Summoned card cannot attack this turn" is not a proper reference. I will agree with the last OCG fix, but negating the effects of the Xyz monster permanently defeats the purpose of this card.

My "Reference" Is the new gold Bls that has correct grammar on how to do a no normal/set/special summon. Can only be special. That is with proper card grammar. The first part was when I wrote the prototype effect before referencing cards and I didn't delete all the way.

 

as for you thinking it kills the monster that is incorrect. This gives retarded support to not only mermails but also e dragons. From all the OCG you keep saying I assume you're from the OCG. You know how stupid dragons are there. All this does is make it so on the first turn You cant activate the effects. Just like you wanted. But with proper card grammar. Just like when you detach extra sword you loose its effects.

 

Remember all in all This is the realistic card section tho you just wan the card as you're own little op card its still bound by card grammar. Despite their track record Konami would never let this exists without a real restriction.
