Revamping a card from 4 years ago - Shadino

This card is treated as a Normal Monster in the Deck. If this card is in your Graveyard: You can banish this card and target 1 banished monster except "Shadino"; Shuffle that target into your deck. You can only activate this effect of "Shadino" once per turn.

 

This card was originally made back when Rescue Rabbit was at 3. To be honest, I kinda miss Rabbit.dek, so I revamped this old card. Originally, it didn't have the banish effect, instead it would end the battle phase if it was destroyed in battle as a way to try and keep it from being a horrific dead draw in case you didn't have Rabbit yet.

 

Now, it exists to reuse Rabbit incase you don't have a way to summon Leviair at the time. I'm not entirely happy with it though, and I'm still fooling around with it. I'm honestly considering adding the card to the hand instead of the deck, just because Rabbit likes to be banished a little more then it likes to be in the deck.

 

Honestly, I'm not entirely sure.

The returning banished card is generic, so it may have uses outside of Rabbit.

Though, that would also mean that adding to the hand might be much more dangerous. Then again, it's have a hard time fitting into decks, since it's a monster, rather than something like Burial, which is a Spell.

So...yeah, you could probably get away with making it add to hand. It might not revive Rabbit, per se, since there's still few ways to search it reliably, but it would be something to make it a bit better.

...The attribute's pretty ass, though. Might replace Saber since WATER (Kabulzaulus [or whatever]) can go into Bahamutt and Abyss (at 2200), and DARK can go into...Thanatos?

 

As a side note, I know this artist and MAN does some of their stuff look ridiculously out of proportion. They've gotten better, at least...

I, honestly, love this card's artwork. And I mean it. It's adorable.

That aside, it's design is rather pigeonholed. Like, yes, you made it as a means to work with Rabbit. But the thing is, Rabbit being@1 hinders this card's playability, since it just comes off as being rather awkward outside of that. Yes, you can still use it as a mini-Burial from a Different Dimension, but that can only go so far. Plus, it's stats are sort of low-ish since you typically expect Dinosaur-Types to have some meat on there bones. Or at least, a little more then 1600(You could get away with like 1800, really).

So all in all, I just see it as being a little weird, but not the bad kind, since it still has an experimental nature to it.

I didn't want to limit it to just Rabbit if it was going to Return to Deck considering that it's already pretty hard to get a use for otherwise. I might actually make it Return to Hand, then give it like... A level four or lower monster restriction or something. And yeah, the attribute isn't great, but honestly it isn't a big deal. It goes into the Zars and it doesn't really fit any other attribute. I thought about changing the card around to make it Wind so that Rabbit could go into Chidori

 

How's their stuff look now? I'm actually a fan of this particular artwork, but I didn't see the other stuff. :'o

That is exactly what saddens me. Unless the TCG follows the OCG's footsteps and makes Rabbit semi'd or something, the intended use is still pretty inconsistent. I might turn this into a set later focused around Rescue Rabbit, but right now, nothing's really going to help this card. I still want to mess around with this though in case I come back to the concept later.

...And yeah, making it 500/1950, and makign it return level 4 or lowers to hand seems fine. Probably have a OPT restriction and/or not able to return Shadinos, though, since it might cause infinite loops.
