Lunar Origins
Capture the Flag [ Spell / Field ] If there is no Flag counter on the field: Target 1 face-up card on the field; That card gains 1 Flag counter. If a card with a Flag counter would be destroyed or sent to the Graveyard, switch control of that card instead. A card with a Flag counter on it gains 1 of these effects, depending on the type of card: Monster: This card's other effects are negated, and it cannot inflict Battle Damage. Field Spell: All monsters on the field inflict double Battle Damage. During the End Phase, increase the Life Points of both players by double the amount of Battle Damage inflicted during this turn, then halve their Life Points. Continuous Spell: Monsters you control gain 500 ATK. If you gained control of this card during this turn: You can gain 1000 Life Points. Continuous Trap: Face-down cards cannot be activated or flipped face-up. When control of this card shifts, destroy all face-down cards on the field. Blue Flag [ Spell / Continuous ] When this card is activated: Activate 1 "Capture the Flag" from your Deck. Red Flag [ Trap / Continuous ] When this card is activated: Activate 1 "Capture the Flag" from your Deck. Flag Keeper EARTH | Level 4 [ Warrior / Effect ] When this card is Summoned: Activate 1 "Capture the Flag" from your Deck. This card's effects cannot be negated by "Capture the Flag". If this card has a Flag counter on it, it gains this effect. Once per turn, during your Main Phase 2: You can target 1 card you control and banish 1 card from your Graveyard; Place 1 Victory counter on that targeted card. If a card you control has 3 Victory counters on it, you win the Duel. While you control this face-up card, cards with Victory counters on them cannot be destroyed by card effects. Trebuchet MS
Haven't I seen something like this before? Oh wait, it's significantly different. My main gripe with the Flag Counter is what happens if a card with a Flag Counter is sent to the Graveyard to pay for costs. Will it also switch control? What happens if there's no space for it to move into?
Lunar Origins
If it is sent to the Graveyard to pay a cost, such as being Tributed or used as a Synchro Material, it will switch control. If there are no zones it is able to switch to, it is sent to the Graveyard instead of switching sides.
