One Man Army

Sorry it's been a while, been busy with other things. My attempt at making a card with diverse range. Probably needs balance. Image credit goes to crutz on deviantART.

Effect:

3 Level 3 monsters
This card's Rank is also treated as it's Level. Xyz materials attached to this card can be used as Synchro materials when performing a Synchro Summon. Once per turn: You can detach up to 3 Xyz materials from this card; Activate the appropriate effect for the amount of Xyz materials detached;
* 1: Increase or decrease this card's Rank by 1.
* 2: Send 1 face-down card on the field to the bottom of it's owner's Deck, then destroy one face-up card on the field.
* 3: Destroy all cards on the field and decrease both player's Life Points by the amount of cards destroyed by this card's effect x200. This effect cannot be negated.

Thanks for reading.

The second effect is the strong one. It's like Batteryman Industrial Cell.

Unlike Cell this costs card presence to Summon, so it's a risk to bring it out when the second and third effects would be strongest. This is something I call the Photon Wyvern problem. The Synchro effect could make it worthwhile by creating a OTK with Karakuri Synchros.

First effect does almost nothing; xyzs can't be used to synchro so the tuner status is useless. Xyzs can only be used to xyz if there is an effect on the xyz monster saying you can. I suggest taking our the first effect and the tuner status. As newhat said, the second effect is the strongest.

That's why I have it so that the card's rank is treated as it's level. Would that not bypass that problem? Xyz monsters are monsters after all, and it is treated as a level 3 and not a rank 3, so why would it not work out? I realize it's something that's not been done before, and that's why I wanted to try it out.

Thanks for the feedback.

Just noting that Xyz Tuners aren't realistic as previously mentioned, so moved to AoC. As for the card itself, very powerful indeed. The second effect makes up for the -2 that 3mat monsters create, so that's good. That effect combined with Book of Moon can get rid of problem monsters and that's a plus. The third effect is tricky considering the risk involved. I don't see much problem with that in mind, though it can make things interesting.

No problem. We are trying to make AoC the forum for innovation again, and this card fits that. Though, this could make any Level 5-12 Synchro Monster now that I think about it. *shivers*

Yes, I wanted it to have a broad Synchro range, but like I said, I feel it does need balancing. I'll likely come back to this card in a while.
