Darj
Blessings of the False Goddess Spell Card Type: Continuous Artwork description: "El Shaddoll Shekhinaga" raising her arms with the hands extended, with rays of light falling on her (just to give an idea, similar to Sylvan Hermitree). Effect: When this card is activated: You can add 1 Flip Effect Monster from your Deck to your hand. If a face-down Flip Effect Monster you control is [acronym=07/17/14 edit]destroyed and[/acronym] sent to the Graveyard, you can activate its Flip Effect (the effect activates in the Graveyard). You can only activate 1 "Blessings of the False Goddess" per turn. [spoiler=Rulings:] - To put it simply, the FLIP effect also gains the condition "If this face-down card is sent to the Graveyard: [Insert Flip Effect here]". The PSCT is to make clear that effects activated this way can be stopped by Soul Drain, Abyss Dweller, Debunk, etc. - This card's second effect is continuous so doesn't start a chain, but the Flip effects activated in the Graveyard will do. Not sure of what would happen if your opponent chains, let's say, MST to a Flip effect from the grave to destroy this card, but if I am not mistaken the Flip effect will continue as normal because it has already activated.[/spoiler] I am fascinated with Shekhinaga and her story, and after Flip Monsters became an official Sub-Type I felt they deserved a bit of support, so I thought on a card that tied both. Basically, it is a Tenki for Flips that makes them much more reliable by allowing them to activate their effects if they are destroyed/sent to the grave by a card effect. Yes, this would also support Shaddolls, which I know is a slippery slope because they are too damn powerful already, but it is quite difficult to make support Flip Effects without indirectly supporting them, unless I add restrictions that would also affect good, non-Shaddoll Flip Monsters, and discriminating them with a "except Shaddoll monsters" restriction would both look awful and go against the card's intended flavor. EDIT: 07/17/14: Now the monster has to be destroyed to activate its effect.
newhat
The obvious way to not support Shaddolls is to take out the second effect. Shaddolls benefit far more from Fusing Set monsters than an exploded Worm Cartaros; it's the difference between Divine Wind of Mist Valley and Shrine of Mist Valley. Unfortunately that would make this card bland and generic. So I don't have any ideas.
Darj
Hmm, how about triggering the Flip effect of the monster when it is destroyed face-down and sent to the grave? That way, at least Fusion Summoning face-down Shaddolls won't set their Flip effects off. And yeah, removing the second effect is not an option.
