Lonk
A.K.A. the Korean Exclusive cards. After DEUA's release in Korea, things are looking pretty interesting with the Lovecraft cards. Outer God Nyarla still sucks, but Trapezohedron of Taboo and Great Old God Cthugtha give it some more interesting techs. In fact, when more type, attribute and Rank support would come out, he would have more use. At the moment, the only thing he has going for himself is Argent Chaos Force and Bright-Black Wave. Elder God Noden is as busted as fornication. The fact that he can be Summoned off of anything especially Instant Fusion to get his effect has so many versatile ways of abuse. In addition, this card makes Super Poly ridiculously versatile as a generic tech. Great Old God Cthugtha is by far the most interesting of the monsters. When it is Synchro Summoned, it bounces all the Rank 4 monsters on the field. Pretty devastating against the right Decks, but that's not what makes it interesting. When it is used for an Xyz Summon or Fusion Summon (as to compliment the rest of the Extra Deck types), the player draws 1 card. Realistically speaking, you can Super Poly this into Noden and clear out a threat on your opponent's side of the field. Let's look at the math here: -Super Poly using Cthugtha and an opponent's monster: Discard 1 card (-1) Send Cthugtha and opponent's monster to the Grave (0). Summon Noden and send this card to the Grave (0). Noden's eff and Cthugtha's effs activate simultaneously. Noden revives Cthugtha and you draw 1 card (+2). Xyz Summon using Noden and Cthugtha for generic Xyz monster (-1) Draw off of Cthugtha's eff since it isn't OPT (+1) -1 + 0 + 0 + 2 + -1 + 1 = an overall +1 for just playing Super Polymerization. You got rid of what would be an opponent's biggest monster, you got your own Xyz Monster and you basically PoG off of Cthugtha. DAYUM! Last but not least, we have the most peculiar Spell Card in the form of Trapezohedron of Taboo. This card brings out Lovecraftian Extra Deck monsters if you control two other types of Extra Deck monsters (i.e. Controlling a Synchro and Xyz will bring out an Elder God [Fusion], Controlling a Fusion and a Synchro will bring out an Outer God [Xyz] and Controlling an Xyz and a Fusion will bring out a Great Old God [Synchro]. This card basically gives you one of the keys to bring out Sophia, which is actually quite startling. The best part? You still have a Main Deck that can be ran on its own without giving much deck dedication to bring out generic Extra Deck monsters. All that is realistically needed is a good way to Ritual Summon, find out how to simultaneously crank out Level 4 Synchros without breaking pace and Sophia becomes playable. So discuss this really interesting archtype that the Koreans have.
Organized Chaos
I really like this series so far. Cthugha and Noden just work so well together and Trapezohedron gives a way of summoning Nyarla (for purposes which seem quite few and far between at the moment) but can also get out Cthugha or Noden if the situation calls for it (which is good considering Rank 4 engines can more than likely get Nyarla out quicker than whatever you would use to get Cthugha.) Plus, I really like Lovecraftian monsters so I am pretty happy with these. Also, kind of silly, situational combo; Chthugha in grave, Instant Fusion in hand. Activate Fusion, summon Noden from Extra. Revive Chthugha using Noden's eff. Activate Trapzohedron, summon Nyarla. Overlay Chthugha and Noden for something non-Number (Castel is a pretty good one.) Draw from Chthugha's eff. Activate generic Rank 4's effect for possibly more advantage Overlay Nyarla and generic R4 for N0: Future Hope. If you were to use Castel as the Rank 4, you could use his 2 Material effect and get both Noden and Chthugha in grave for Call of the Haunted shenanigans later on while spinning an Opponent's card back to the Deck.
