So I've tried beer.  Not bad at all, and people say that no one likes their first beer.

Currently working my way through a bottle of Hardy's 2011 Merlot. It's pretty tasty.

Usually I'm a beer drinker. Those Polish lagers have got me under some sort of enchantment.

What's Merlot like?  I've had some kind of Cabernet (forget the kind exactly) and it was a tad dry for my taste.

Merlot is medium/fruity so you'll probably like it. I don't pretend to know lots about wine though.

Which beers have you tried? I'm a big fan of trying all sorts of different ales, but in this heat it's hard to top the appeal of a cold lager. As I said, big fan of the Polish ones (Zywiec, Tatra, Tyskie, Perla etc) but I don't think those are too common outside of Europe.

I have only tried one Heineken, as I was offered one by a friend of my father's, and that's what they drink.

The main thing I noticed was how filling it was.  I'm curious about trying different ones.

Heineken is okay, better than many lagers at any rate. It probably feels filling because of the carbonation; christ knows how some guys can sit and drink 10 pints.

Since I'm under the age limit, I don't really pay attention to alcohol. First time I actually had one, I was at my cousins house and I saw this bottle with green liquid in it. All the label said was, "Green Apple Pucker". I was only 7 at the time and I thought it was juice. I managed to pour some in a cup, and when I tasted it, the back of my throat started burning. I asked my cousin why the juice did this, and he told me that it was alcohol. Never messed with it again.

That's probably smart to be honest.  Too many kids start drinking too early without knowing what they're getting into.  It's not like you're missing out on anything life-changing.

Looked up Green Apple Pucker, its really really weak Vodka, only 30 proof, which is like a strong wine, so thankfully it wouldn't pose too much of a threat to a 7 year old (sine you only tasted a bit of it.)  Some of these stronger drinks are outright dangerous around small children.

I don't need to get drunk to have fun, so I'd not risk the possibility of becoming a drunkard.

Also, my family has a lot of terrible examples involving alcohol. I'm 21, legal age in Brazil is 18, and I never got even close to beer.
