A Ditto's Journey (5-card set)

Alright, it's been too flipping long since I was last here, and I mean it's been years. What's a good way to get into the swing of things? Make some cards obviously!

Well, how about a mini-set of cards based off an OC of mine, a very-peculiar Ditto...

Text: There can only be 1 face-up monster with "Neos Rivetter" in its name on the field. Once per turn, you may return this card to the Deck to Special Summon 1 card with "Neos Rivetter" in its name that does not have "Original Form" in its name. If this card is Summoned by the effect of a card with "Neos Rivetter" in its name, this card's effect cannot be used during your next turn.

Explaination: Alright, first of all is the card that starts this chain of events. Neos Rivetter is a Ditto that wanted to become human after seeing one particular human have a huge effect on saving his home, which has had an effect on his appearance as a Ditto and a limited effect on certain other forms. The limitation in the first sentence is to make it clear that there is only one Ditto like this. Since the other cards in this chain need this first one to even be summoned, only this card has the limit line. The second sentence is what allows this card to 'transform' into other cards that fit its restriction. In this case, this card can become another card with "Neos Rivetter" in its name. While in the games, Ditto CAN become other Ditto, I felt that was just way too rediculous to allow here. I wrote the sentence the way I did instead of specifying a specific name incase I decide later to add another card this one can turn into. The third sentence reflects what I would like to think of a form of fatigue, since the most-likely way to be summoned by another "Neos Rivetter" card is by combat.

Original image is heavily-altered from a frame in the original anime.

Text: This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by the effect of "Neos Rivetter - Original Form". If a card effect would remove 1 or more cards from your side of the field, you may remove this card from play instead If you do, negate and destroy the card. If this card would be removed from the field outside of its own effect or by "Heart of the Tree", send this card to the Deck and Special Summon "Neos Rivetter - Original Form" from either the Hand or the Deck to the field.

Explaination: The chosen human form has been revealed at last. For those who comment that Neos looks a LOT like Riley from the Diamond, Pearl and Platinum games, it was originally done by accident. When Diamond and Pearl were still only in Japan, I had found his set of overworld sprites and recolored them, using them in Skype RPs with an old, old friend of mine. When the games hit America and I saw Riley for the first time, I found myself mentally F-bombing while trying to figure out how to keep the character design and be able to explain the lookalike stunt in a way that could possibly make sense. The answer came about in the movie "Lucario and the Mystery of Mew", seeing Mew take the form of many different creatures. Figuring a MEW masquerading as a human would be a no-go, I remembered there was another Pokemon capable of the same thing: Ditto.

In regards to his effect, it's basicly a one-shot way to counter a variety of cards that could potentially wipe the board on you when you have the bad luck of not having another way to counter, using himself as a shield to save those around him. If someone were to try to pop him off, however, he'd be able to escape by shifting back into his original form, though he'd be unable to transform immediately. The sudden jump in level from 2 to 7 is actually supposed to show how difficult it is to take on a human form, even for Pokemon that can transform and maintain it for long periods of time, even while asleep. I also flagged him as a Beast-Warrior instead of a Warrior, because though he appears human, he still has the soul of a beast...

This is also one of two cards that I will replace the image off when I can, since a level of ripping was done, even with the severe changes made. (Turning a real-life cosplay pic into this was a pain in the rear...)

Text: You may only play this card while "Tree of Beginning" is on the field. Increase the ATK and DEF of every monster on your side of the field by 500 for every card in your graveyard with either "Aura" or Neos Rivetter" in its name. If "Neos Rivetter - Human Form" is on your side of the field, return it to the Deck and summon from your Hand or Deck to your side of the field "Neos Rivetter - Aura Guardian" in Attack Position.

Explaination: Ah, the key to further power is revealed, but I wonder what that power is, eh? While most of Neos' cards would not send themselves to the Graveyard on purpose, there will be times when such cards land in the grave anyway and this card gives you the chance to punish your foe for placing them there. As for why it needs another card to be played, every aura has a source...

Text: Card effects that destroy 1 or more cards on the field are negated while this card is face-up on the field. All monsters may be Normal Summoned with one less Tribute.

Explaination: And for Heart of the Tree, its source comes from the Tree of Beginning, a living crystaline tree in Kanto, estimated to be somewhere near Mt. Moon. For those who noticed that in Human Form, Neos is wearing a necklace with a gem, that gem is from this tree as a reminder of home. With its own form of immune system, the Tree provides a level of protection of harm, which also allows more Pokemon to live longer without as much strain. This reduced strain is reflected in the reduced Tribute cost for monsters that can be Tribute Summoned. (If a card specifies it needs a certain amount of monsters tributed, like Obelisk the Tormentor's 3-trib cost or Barbaros' 3-trib effect however, it doesn't reduce those.)

Original image is straight from the movie "Lucario and the Mystery of Mew" with minor, minor edits.

Text: This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by "Heart of the Tree". While this card is on the field, if your opponent declares an attack, they must select this card as the attack target. Card effects may not remove cards from play. If this card would be removed from the field, send this card to the Deck and Special Summon "Neos Rivetter - Original Form" from either the Hand or the Deck to the field.

Explaination: Before anyone decides to launch a brick at me for making this one a Divine Attribute monster, it's supposed to symbolize the trials that went into getting from the start to the finish. While he can no longer sacrifice himself to counter various effects, he can prevent them a lot of out-of-play removal and if Tree of Beginning is still out, a lot of effects will no longer work. Sadly, this is a blanket effect, which means you're affected as well. He still maintains his role as a living shield, though this time through combat, preventing anyone other than himself to be targetted by attacks.

This is also one of two cards that I will replace the image off when I can, since a level of ripping was done, even with the severe changes made.
