asterr259
(This card is also always treated as "Dark Magician".) This card is treated as a Normal Monster while face-up on the field or in the Deck. While this card is a Normal Monster on the field, you can Normal Summon it to have it become an Effect Monster with this effect. • When this card is Normal Summoned: Place 2 Spell Counters on it. You can remove 1 Spell Counter from this card, then target 1 Spell/Trap Card on the field; destroy that target. While this card has no Spell Counters: You can send 1 Level 6 or higher Spellcaster-Type monster from your Deck to the Graveyard; this card becomes a Normal Monster. Starting a series of cards called "What. Yugioh. Needs. More." or "Wynmore" where I make cards that'll help even/smooth out the game and help dying Archetype/Decks. Someone brought up to me that DM was a terrible card and the archetype as a whole isn't competitive. I disagree but I went made a v.2 anyway. You can pretty much see where I was going with the effect. Artwork came out almost like I wanted it to. I are so proud ouo Atleast CnC THIS card... Not sure if it's broken or not for what it is. My stuff gets like 100 views and 1 comment max. So I guess could take it as a complement and the card is flawless. Yeah, on second thought, you don't have to. Blake
It's not a normal monster in the only places that matter towards its usage. I mean, yes, it's technically better than Dark Magician and it IS a Normal on the field for Ebon Illusion Magician/Dark Magician of Illusions... but it's not one in the hand or Deck, meaning the places it needs to be one for its usability are the places it isn't. I understand why. It's a gemini, and you don't want to break theme, but if you want to make something like this... Why not? As long as you keep the core idea the same, you have some wiggle room. For example, we have Yamato-no-Kami. It's still very much a Spirit, and fits in, but approaches it differently than the rest of the mechanic. And this isn't even bad, it's evolution. You could do the same here. Make it in hand/field or deck/field and cut out Graveyard. This makes it not as perfectly supported as well as it could be, and it can make abuse with Supervise less possible, meaning you'd have to run at least 1 copy of OG, meaning a max 2 of this for maximum payoff. I also dislike that it restocks itself in exchange for a Normal Summon. With DMoI/EIM, once you get this out, it's not something you'll want to do away with. Hell, you won't need to, considering that both EIM and this itself serve as removal, though the former is clearly more potent. I dunno, making it a recycling Gemini (which, in and of itself, is a change to the mechanic like I mentioned) leaves a terrible taste in my mouth. It doesn't feel like good design. Thanks for the feedback. You're right about the field/grave aspect, I forgot about cards like Yamato so I didn't really touch the Gemini Clause. For this to do what I want it to, I don't even need it to be norm grave, and I also forgot about Supervise's Second effect. Deck/Field is what is best. The restock effect is what I thought would be the most appealing aspect. As far that part goes here are some revisions I'm thinking about. Revisions: Reduce Spell Counter Gain to 1. Give last Effect a Cost: "While this card has no Spell Counters: You can send 1 Level 6 or higher Spellcaster-Type monster from your Deck to the Graveyard; this card becomes a Normal Monster." Or Both.
Kivoxo
Simple though a little overpowered with recycling the backrow destruction, and even better with pendulums around the corner. Not sure "Ebonrod" is the right name for it or any card. Ever. Regardless I like it. GOOD WORK M8.
This card is becomes a Normal Monster while it has no Spell Counters.
