Darj Posted August 16, 2014 Report Share Posted August 16, 2014 Renewal Fusion Trap Card Type: Normal Card appearance: Nonfunctional Qliphorts can be seen lying on the ground, and the Gem-Knight cores within are being released and gathering in the sky. Effect: Fusion Summon 1 "Gem-Knight" Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, sending your banished monsters to the Graveyard as Fusion Materials. You can only use this effect of "Renewal Fusion" once per turn, and you cannot Special Summon other monsters from the Extra Deck the turn you activate this effect. If that monster is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard: You can banish this card from your Graveyard to target, in your Graveyard, 1 Fusion Material Monster used for the Fusion Summon of that monster; Special Summon that target. Both "Gem-Knight Fusion" and the new "Absorb Fusion" banish so I figured Gem-knights would greatly benefit from their own "Parallel World Fusion"; it also makes "Fragment Fusion" somewhat playable. I felt that a single effect was bland so I thought on giving it a second effect that didn't generate card advantage without resorting to 1-turn destruction or targeting immunities, or similar effects (e.g. Hymn of Light, Diamond Core, Ritual of Grace, etc.) for a change; in the end I went for a pseudo-floating effect, but if you have better ideas I would like to see/read them. Flavor and Trivia: - Obviously I'm making this up, but let's say that after the Qliphorts are defeated and/or shut down, the Gem-Knight cores within react with each other and trigger Fusion Summons in order to restore their former bodies and, in a way, renew themselves (from there comes the card name).
