VlausHieme
Rent cards for tournaments, why didnt someone think of this sooner? Basically if you are a chump or poor as heck, this new idea will be you golden ticket to the big show at worlds or other tournament events. Basically a company that rents cards out (temporary) to people for special events could make a fine mint. Discuss the scenario where anyone at any tournament could just about rent any card they want to use.
goddamnit names are a pain
Dueling network without public chat bad avis and really really scrubby duelists also people having to actually read cards and know how to play the game somewhat In a way it would encourage actual deck building (as in, new ideas) by people who can't normally afford the deck can now experiment with it. However though having to keep up with cards isn't as easy as it sounds.
Greiga
Didn't YCS Hong Kong and/or some other OCG events have preconstructed decks people could use? I don't think you could enter with them but you could walk around and play casually with them. They weren't terrible either, there were Bujins and Blackwings and other stuff. Neutrality Man
One big problem... How do you tell the rental cards from the ones they actually own to retrieve them?
Greiga
Meaning they do not specific do the thing I was suggesting? I missed the part where you said a company mails you them. One big problem... How do you tell the rental cards from the ones they actually own to retrieve them? Good question, if it was on site you could use special sleeves but otherwise you would have to modify the card which I'm pretty sure big events don't let you do. VlausHieme
A payment would be given before any cards are rented with proper legal state id or driver's license. If walks away or "forgets to return" then I get keep all the money and file for stolen stuff which can be easy IDK you state id/driver's license would give me and or cops some pretty big hints. You give me some money up front before I rent the cards out to you and when the event is over you return them to me and I return your money to you but, I keep a small 5-11% of what you originally gave me. Greiga
What's there to file for if you got money out of it? If you take full price and they keep the cards they basically bought it, since you imply to have some kind of flat rate instead of a daily/weekly charge. The individual cards don't have any real value above a few cents anyway, and plus I doubt anyone would give their state ID just for some cardboard so glhf getting help there either. Also, if they need it for back to back events then obviously they're gonna keep the cards otherwise you may as well be on-site for events instead of mailing the deck. I barely know anything about how business works but Konami might also step in since you're making money off their shit and are also eliminating the need for packs if everyone can just rent the cards they need till they get bored and then rent new stuff. Step in as in buy the service, or C&D?
Greiga
C&D, but like I said, I sadly have very little idea of how the business world works.
