Malac, Leader of the Burning Abyss

Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card and banish up to 3 "Burning Abyss" cards from your Graveyard, then target the same number of cards on the field; destroy the targeted card(s). If this card is sent to the Graveyard: You can target 1 of your banished "Burning Abyss" monsters; Special Summon it.

 

The ATK and DEF of this card are equal to half of the total ATK and DEF of all three "Malebranche of the Burning Abyss" cards.  This card is based on Malacoda, who was also the leader of the Malebranche in Dante Alighieri's Inferno.  The card art is not mine.

 

While "Dante, Traveler of the Burning Abyss" is best used at the beginning to set up your Graveyard, this card is best used at the endgame to clear your opponent's field and finish them off.  This can also be considered a 'boss monster' of the archetype, but keep in mind that this card requires THREE Level 3 monsters instead of the usual two.

Since you made banishing a cost, you would have to put "... 1 Xyz Material from this card and banish up to 3 "Burning Abyss" cards from your Graveyard, then target..." 

You got the "and" and "then" mixed up.  Detaching and Banishing are costs, all costs are Paid at the same time and Targeting always happens directly after.  

 

Very powerful card.  Had it been just 2 materials would have been broken.  I think the fact that you need 3 balances it out nicely.  Would probably see play, but only in one copy due to the difficulty to Summon.
