SuperHeavy Samurai Support!

SuperHeavy Samurai Ida

Level: 1

Stats: 0/0

Typing: Machine/Effect/Tune

Effect: If you control a face-up machine-type monster; you can special summon this card from your hand by sending 1 "SuperHeavy Samurai" monster from your deck to your graveyard, and if you do, increase this cards level by the level of the monster sent to the graveyard by this effect.

This card cannot be used as material for the synchro summon of a non-machine-type monster and can only be used as a synchro material if the other synchro materials are "Superheavy" monsters. When this card is sent to the graveyard, you can add 1 "SuperHeavy Samurai Soul" monster from your graveyard to your hand.

It is impossible to see the complete magnitude of just how much this would change the Deck without seeing a complete list of Superheavy Synchros, but for now lets analyze what this can do as of this post.  As of now, this card's level can be:

1: Send nothing

2: Send Break Armor

3: Send Soulfire Suit

4: Send Swordman or Big Bang

5: Send Blue Brawler (worst name), Kabuto, or Tenbin

9: Send Benkei

The amount of versatility this card has is mind boggling.  However to balance that you made it so it can only tune to make Machine types.  Here is a list of Machine-Type Synchros in that case that a pure Superheavy Samurai could utilize:

  • Ally of Justice Catastor
  • Ally of Justice Decisive Armor
  • Ally of Justice Field Marshal
  • Ally of Justice Light Gazer
  • Armory Arm [not very viable considering the way the Deck plays, though the extra burn could be useful]
  • Cloudcastle
  • Dark Strike Fighter [banned]
  • Formula Synchron
  • Karakuri Shogun mdl 00 "Burei"
  • Karakuri Shogun mdl 00X "Bureido"
  • Mecha Phantom Beast Cocorunda [useless]
  • Power Tool Dragon
  • Power Tool Mecha Dragon
  • Powered Inzektron
  • T.G. Blade Blaster [only if you can make formula]
  • T.G. Halberd Cannon [possible, but very unlikely]

This card allows Samurais to make the vast majority of these cards in one turn, especially when utilized with Tenbin.

But this card's usefulness doesn't stop there.

You can dump to make this card's level whatever you need and go for Xyz plays too.  Heck, combined with Tenbin you could easily go for 3 mat rank 4 Xyz, and you can go for a rank 9 Xyz by sending benkei

So as you can see, even without the rest of the Extra Deck Samurai's, this card is absurd in what it does for the Deck.  At this early stage though, I don't think it's that OP.  Samurais are slow, and this fixes that problem and then some.  There is only one thing I would change, and that is this change to the clause on the restricted summoning:

This card can only be use for the Synchro summon of a Machine-Type Synchro monster, and the other materials are "Superheavy Samurai" monsters you control.

[little confused on how to word what I've written above in terms of correct OCG]

EDIT:

P.S. You also posted this in the wrong section.

Thank You!

Also i didnt really 100% know where to post this since i wasnt too sure how broad "Pop Culture Cards" extended, but it is a single realistic anyway.

That clause is amazing, and fits it well, the reason i made it so versatile is because at the time I didnt know how many synchros there would be for them or how powerful they would be.

You cant have its level be 1 either, the increasing effect is mandatory.

As of now the only good card they have is Tenbin, and this cards level is 1 if not summoned by its own effect.

So how re-usable it is, is debatable.

I'll have to wait to see more of the cards if this card would even be necessary for them.

I'll update the card!

Updated.

In terms of Tenbin:

Tenbin Sp. Summons a Samurai from the grave.  This means that you can get out 2 Sams, then summon this thing and go for decisive armor or something.  Tenbin can even Sp. summon himself under the right conditions.

In terms of the level.  I meant you opt not to use it's effect and just normal summon it.  Not very logical based on it's power, but still an option.

Tenbin cant ss himself. It states it on the card......

If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can target 1 Level 4 or lower "Superheavy Samurai" monster in your Graveyard, except "Superheavy Samurai Tenbin"; Special Summon that monster in face-up Defense Position. You can only use this effect of "Superheavy Samurai Tenbin" once per turn.

Anyway when this card isnt in the hand it can only go for 5-2's so thats limited in a way.

You forgot the first effect he has:  If your opponent controls 2 or more monsters and you control no monsters, you can Special Summon this card (from your hand).
