Super Chaos Sonic
Ride the winds, warrior of the skies! Let your noble ways reveal the path your king has set for you!
If your opponent controls 2 or more face-up monsters of the same Attribute, you can Special Summon this card (from your hand). Once per turn: You can target 1 face-down Spell or Trap on the field; return that target to your opponent's hand.
Inspiration This card's inspiration was all over the place this time, so best start with the main story, I suppose. The name of the monster "Yvain" is a reference to the knight in Arthurian legends known as "Yvain, the Knight of the Lion". It is because of this, this beast is named after the knight, also in reference to the knight's lion companion. Another point into mythology is the many myths and legends that deal with winged lions, as you can tell by the appearance, it definitely is. Now for the beginning effect, the monster I went with basing it off of was a WIND monster by the name of Alector, Sovereign of Birds and for the ending effect, well its the main style of effect of your typical run of the mill WIND monster. Intended Idea Now with the idea in mind I had, was actually running this alongside the monster Raiza the Storm Monarch/Raiza the Mega Monarch. As if you couldn't see, these effects would all pop the back field in their own ways. Because of this, it makes it easier for said Duelist to attack their opponent without hindrance. Not only this, Yvain also gets to remove your opponent's monsters as Tribute Fodder (so long as they are the same Attribute). And with it being a Tribute Summon, a combo with a card such as March of the Monarchs would also aid it. Card Art The card art for Windswept Beast Yvain has been brought to you in part by Jazinkay's Photobucket! ~~~~~~ The card got me first place in Sakura Haruno's SCS 7, entitled "Contest of the Storms". Planning to make a set out of this, so what do you all think?
Darj
Card is way too similar to Alector, no only for their same summoning conditions, type and similar stats, but also this card's effect effectively covers what Alector cannot touch: Alector disrupts face-up cards, while this disrupts face-downs. To be honest, the card feels somewhat unoriginal for that reason, but that's just me. Anyways, the card looks fine, and should be as good as its counterpart Alector. However, just like Alector (who is barely played nowadays), I don't see this card becoming that much of an impact on the game. Although with this card available you could build a Level6 WIND themed deck with Raiza, Alector, Yvain and Stormforths. Just 1 thing: It needs a restriction to keep it from swarming; otherwise you could drop 3 of these from the hand for free, bounce up to 3 backrow and attack, go Rank6, etc. You could go either for a "you can only Special Summon 1 Yvain per turn" clause, add a "while you control no monsters" to its summoning condition, or a harder "you can only control 1 Yvain" clause. I recommend the former so you will be able to Normal Summon or Stormforth/Soul Exchange a 2nd copy, and it wouldn't be as restricted as Alector. May have to look into how to make it separate from Alector. 2. My original thought was, I was making this card for an YGO RP (dealing with the aspects of the card designing side) that was in the works in which I would have a character show it off in the right way, mainly a WIND deck maining not only this but Raiza/Mega Raiza. 3. I understand this. Though in my original thought, I would think that with a power house deck containing strong cards such as Raiza, that the opponent wouldn't have too many monsters on the field at the same time. However, I can see where this would be a problem. I'll get some time to fix that up as well.
Hydra Iron Man
to seperate from alector, make it a guardian based monster so you can use arsenal on it. i dunno, just a thought
Darj
You can give it a different type (for instance, Beast-Warrior) and playing a bit more with its ATK/DEF. That should be enough to separate it from Alector.
Super Chaos Sonic
to seperate from alector, make it a guardian based monster so you can use arsenal on it. i dunno, just a thought I don't exactly follow. What do you mean Guardian based monsters? You can give it a different type (for instance, Beast-Warrior) and playing a bit more with its ATK/DEF. That should be enough to separate it from Alector. Funny fact, I originally was going to make it a Beast-Warrior...dunno why I didn't though. Anyway, that probably will help out.
Hydra Iron Man
remember those sick guardian monsters? Like eatos (My fav. card)? Im thinking make it easy to search/draw with an arsenal summoner as a little bonus so you can put Guardian in its namenot the equip spell thing, just make it searchable with arsenal summoner, so put gauridan in its title
