Jaemendax
Hi, Jaemendax here! This is my first post on YCM, yay! I've been playing the MMBN series and have decided to (maybe) start a card set based on it. I haven't started anything major, only got the two mock cards below (it's why they don't have a complete Set ID yet). What I'm concerned with, however, is if anybody would be interested in a set like this? I'll mostly be making this set for personal use, but if people are interested, I'll post here. Also, even though these are "mock" cards, criticism is still appreciated, as it is my first time using YCM's card maker, and card making in general. I used to use Yugico.com's CC, but then the site is always down, so I've moved here. As it is my first post here, I ask that people be gentle :) . I've read the rules, but if I am in error, please kindly remind me, thanks! Also I'm a bit newbish with deciding on the rank of cards, so criticism on rank is most appreciated! [Last edit on: 10/12/14] [Edit Details: Changed to effect monster + effect.] During the Battle Phase, if this card attacks, and you control 2 or more "Mettaur" monsters: Switch all "Mettaur" monsters you control to Defense Position, except this card. Fun Fact: I just couldn't find a good Mettaur pic on the internet, so I took a snapshot from the anime. This one is taken from the first episode of MegaMan NT Warrior. [Last edit on: 10/12/14] [Edit details: Capitalizations] Once per turn, at the start of your Battle Phase: You can place 1 Charge Counter on this card (max. 1), but it cannot attack this Battle Phase. This card gains 500 ATK for each Charge Counter on it. At the end of the Damage Step where this card attacked or was attacked, remove all Charge Counters from this card. Explanation: This effect correlates to Megaman charging his MegaBuster.
Trebuchet MS
When using images for the card maker, try to crop them into squares so they don't experience weird distortions. Unless you intend to create Mettaur v2 and Mettaur v3, I'd prefer it if Mettaur gained a little effect that mimics its higher versions' ability to hide under their helmets when other Mettaurs are on the field. MegaMan's effect looks rather long-winded for a conditional 500 ATK buff. How about changing it a little to a Counter gimmick, to mimic his Charge Shot? Let me see how it will work. Once per turn, at the start of your Battle Phase: You can place 1 Charge Counter on may announce during your battle phase to not attack your opponent with this card (max. 1), but it cannot attack this Battle Phase. During your next turn, during the battle phase only, This card gains 500 ATK for each Charge Counter on it. if and only if this card did not battle during your opponent's turn. At the end of the Damage Step where this card attacked or was attacked, remove all Charge Counters from this card. This way, the Charge Shot can be used to deter attacks from monsters under 2000 ATK, but MegaMan is forced to expend it if he goes into battle. This means you can only begin attacking with a good 2000 ATK if your opponent didn't attack MegaMan at all from the time he began charging. I look forward to what else you can come up with. Jaemendax
Thanks for the OCG revision, Gadjiltron! As you can tell, I'm not very versed in OCG. I look forward to improving though. Gadjiltron said: Unless you intend to create Mettaur v2 and Mettaur v3, I'd prefer it if Mettaur gained a little effect that mimics its higher versions' ability to hide under their helmets when other Mettaurs are on the field. I like that idea a lot! I'll be sure to implement it.
Jaemendax
I have updated the Mettaur card to include the effect Gadjiltron mentioned. ------ Actually, now that I'm researching the MMBN viruses, I think implementing the virus variants as their own cards would be easier. This also means I'll have more than triple the amount of cards to create, which is fine. I'll leave the cards in this thread unchanged for now, but I will start a different, official thread for these cards soon. Please reply (or PM, that's fine too) if you're interested in this set, thanks!
