AncientGearGeneral
Awkward tuning will disrupt your opponent's plays while Perfect tuning will help you synchro if you don't have a tuner with the right level. Awkward can disrupt your opponents plays no matter what the coin lands on, say they are playing quasar, they make a formula synchron and have their field set up, chain awkward tuning to turn that sucka into a level 4 and ruin their play! Perfect tuning is used to help regulate the level of your synchro material, you can discard up to 5 cards to activate it, making it amazing for decks like Lightsworns or Shaddoll Quasar. It can also be used to chain up with junk synchron's summoning effect if you're playing synchrons. (Sorry for cropped cards, it was due to the files being too much)
Chaos_Deck
hmmmm i dunno they seem pretty OP... ;$ Awkward Tuning: i don't see a reason to main deck this card... Perfect Tuning: this might work but even then it's OP and will be abused... i like the fact that you drew the pictures(or found drown pictures) but other than that these cards must be done more balanced... Trebuchet MS
When you Summon a Tuner monster: You can discard up to 5 cards (min. 1); activate 1 of these effects. *Increase that monster's Level by the number of for each cards discarded. *Decrease subtract or add a level to that monster's Level by the number of cards discarded (your choice).
That's a very heavy cost for the mere sake of changing a Tuner monster's Level. At minimum, you're giving up 2 cards from your hand (this card, and the discards) for... altering Levels? I'm certain there's a more efficient way to go about this. Change cost to LP payment. Sharply reduce the discard cost (like, a modification of up to 3 Levels per card discarded) Remove the cost entirely, but impose a slightly stricter limit of how much you can adjust (+/- 1 or 2 is a somewhat acceptable free range.)
Activate When you or your opponent summons a monster is Summoned: Flip Toss a coin and activate the appropriate effect. *Heads: Increase that monster's has its Level increased by 2. for heads and *Tails: Decreased that monster's Level by 1 for tails.
This is more cost-efficient, albeit offset by the coin toss. But no matter what happens you still disrupt a predicted Synchro/Xyz play and force the opponent to use other resources. This I like - at least it's sideboard material. That said, I hardly see a reason to maindeck these cards since it's universally better to simply get rid of the material candidate.
Chorus101099
Perfect Tuning has a very big cost for 1level increase or decrease for each card reduced... Try to make it 500 per level change to make it good for your main deck though it is a little bit overpowered Awkward Tuning is very hard to use and it is very unpredictable... Remove the coin toss to make it more useful
Sir Yamiegg
These are vastly inferior, for example, to Mischief of the Yokai or Stygian Dirge, and nobody mains those cards. They're way too underpowered. I don't think any sensible player would go so far as to go as far as -6 cards to change a Level, so I would change the cost to LP as Gadjiltron said, and remove the "Tuner" part for the 2nd card. You should also do something to counteract the -1 presented by both (e.g. When this card resolves: Draw 1 card), or at least give the cards some extra effect - for Awkward maybe "If that monster leaves the field: draw 1 card." razzy
It has nothing do with the "cost" of the card. The way it is worded makes it all part of the effect.A skilled/smi-skilled player could easily tell how many cards he/she needed discard for a Quasar that turn. As for Awkward, yes it is differently a side deck card. But why do you have it worded as "increased by 2 for each heads and decreased by 1 for tails" if you're only flipping 1 coin. Was it just a mistake?
AncientGearGeneral
Well, I made perfect tuning while playing around with lightsworns, and always tuning is mainly aimed against opponents, variations of perfect tuning that cost life points I might make though
