Atypical-Abbie
Going with the theme of the other Level 4. U.A. Defender Warrior-Type/EARTH Level 4 You can Special Summon this card (from your hand) by returning 1 "U.A." monster you control to the hand, except "U.A. Defender". You can only Special Summon "U.A. Defender" once per turn this way. Once per turn, when a "U.A." monster you control is targeted for an attack or opponent's card effect: You can return that monster to your hand, then Special Summon 1 "U.A." monster with a different name from your hand. 1500/1500
Toffee.
Doesn't that field guy, already, kinda sorta do this card's job anyway?
Atypical-Abbie
Doesn't that field guy, already, kinda sorta do this card's job anyway? For the most part, but he can't return himself, so if you only have that guy on board, he's not all that useful, this can return himself as well, and it has higher ATK and DEF too. Toffee.
But with that in mind, you've basically outright replaced Midfielder. Wouldn't it be more appropriate to not go with that route, if only because you could give them more variety among level 4s, and not so much say which ones you can and can't run. I mean, basically all the UAs are playable, because each of them does a specific thing, and wants you to trade them off to accomplish other tasks; it's an implied team thing. Well, you can't use it as you wish, it requires a specific timing and all. It was made with the intention of being like MIdfielder, which is why it's called Defender after all, but I can see how they might be too similar. Any idea on how to change it a bit? It shouldn't be TOO different though.
Forest Fire
in soccer, the midfielder can go where ever, while the defense can only go up the the mid line. also, midfielder can do what the offense and defense can do, but as one person. you're reversing the concept and making the defender do what the midfielder does (combined with the goalkeeper). the defense is really supposed to be like another, more mobile goalkeeper. i like how you're combining the effs of midfielder and goalkeeper tho. but it really does feel like another midfielder. albeit, with better stats. maybe add an attack restriction? Atypical-Abbie
add an attack restriction to what you summon with defender's eff You have to be more specific, do you mean that it can't attack or that it can't be attacked?
