Soul Rebirth

(Continuous Trap)

Activate if you control no monsters: Pay 800 LP, then target 1 monster in your Graveyard or 1 of your banished monsters; Special Summon that target. Its effect(s) is negated and it cannot be destroyed by your opponent's card effects. When this card leaves the field, banish that monster. When that monster leaves the field, destroy this card.

I was a bit unsure about the LP cost, I wanted to give it a LP cost to represent that you give up some of your soul to revive another, but I was unsure about the amount. Maybe 1000 LP is a bit too much?

Updated 12/12/14: Lowered LP cost, fixed OCG.

A little wording tweak:

Activate if you control no monsters: Pay 1000 LP, then target 1 monster in your Graveyard or 1 of your banished monsters Zone; Special Summon that target. Its effect(s) is negated and it cannot be destroyed by your opponent's card effects. When this card leaves the field, banish that monster. When that monster leaves the field, destroy this card.

The "activate if"/"activate by" phrase at the start indicates that you only get one revival once it's activated, and cannot be misinterpreted as being able to put multiple revivals on the same Chain while it's face-up. It's sort of like distinguishing between whether it functions like Call of the Haunted or whether it can function like Miracle Fertilizer.

As for the cost, it seems slightly steep when all you're getting is effectively a protected beater. Granted, the ability to reach for banished monsters grants more situations where this would be useful, but 1000 LP still seems too steep. Maybe 800.
