Introduction

Hello, everybody! Welcome to Raeg's Crib! I will be discussing mainly Lego and diecast cars in this blog. Maybe other stuff as well. Feel free to ask me questions and I will try to answer them to the best of my ability. How this will work is that each blog entry, I will try to mention something about both of the main topics and maybe try to throw in an little extra on something else.. I do not have a specific update schedule at the time.

What is Lego and what are diecast cars?

I'm sure you know what Lego is. It's esentially building/construction toys. Diecast cars? Maybe you never of that term before? Diecast cars are like Hot Wheels, Matchbox, and other brands. The size of the diecast cars can vary from small to big.

Back to Lego. Well, I'll give some backstory on how I got back into it. I got into Lego.Well, I was considering getting back into Lego back in December of 2013. However, I was like "This stuff is for kids..." I mean now, I realize that it's not true. Well ok, depending on the theme, the PRIMARY target might be kids. But hey, there are adults who still like Lego. Anyway, I was talking to Nai(At least I believe so), and Armz and if there were orders, I forgot who. I think Nai said yes to when I asked if I should get back into Lego and Armz...well he....basically pwned me, in my opinion. If I remember correctly, Armz asked me how is Lego any different from a couple of stuff I was watching at the time. And frankly, he did have a point. So, I got back into Lego with 60011 Surfer's Rescue. Anyway, there you go. That's more or less how I got back into Lego.

As for diecast cars, I mainly collect Hot Wheels and Matchbox. Those two brands have fantasy castings and licensed castings. While there are cool fantasy castings, I mainly collect the licensed castings.

Why Lego and Diecast Cars?

Because I enjoy the hobbies. I enjoy the Lego brand. I enjoy the Hot Wheels and Matchbox brands. Both hobbies are fun. And, I figured this blog thing would be the best way to talk about it on here.

What's coming? What am I looking foward to? And another fanfic idea?

There are quite a few Lego sets that I want from the 2015 releases. In general, the 2015 releases are pretty neat. I like them. What's coming you ask? And what do I want? Well...

⦁    There's the Speed Champions theme coming in March which has Lego sets featuring Ferrari, McLaren, and Porsche. Why we gotta wait until March, though....At least I can try to plan what to get before then. http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/Speed_Champions

⦁    There's the return of Bionicle. Don't know how many I want.

⦁    The City theme is pretty neat for 2015. Some examples include 60067 Helicopter Pursuit, 66081 Pickup Tow Truck, and 60085 4x4 with Powerboat. I want the last two. The first one I do want, but I dunno if I can get it. ⦁    DC Superhero theme has a Green Lantern set which I want. I believe all the DC Superhero sets for 2015 so far have minifigures that are either brand new or appearing in actual sets for the first time. http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/76025_Green_Lantern_vs._Sinestro

And more. There's also new Lego Pirate sets, more Ultra Agents sets, etc.

As for diecast cars, what's one upcoming one from both Hot Wheels and Matchbox that I'm excited about? The Hot Wheels McLaren P1 ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McLaren_P1) and probably the Matchbox Tesla Model S  ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tesla_Model_S ) even though apparently, Hot Wheels is doing the Model S too(Hot Wheels and Matchbox are both owned by Mattel). One model that I would like to come back in the Hot Wheels line is the Nissan GT-R ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_GT-R ). As for a model I'd like to see? Not sure about Matchbox but as for Hot Wheels, I would like to see the Gumpert Apollo ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gumpert_Apollo ).

In other news, the licensing agreement between Hot Wheels and Ferrari has ended and that implies no more Ferrari Hot Wheels. If the implication is true and there are no more Ferrari diecasts in the Hot Wheels line, hopefully we see more replicas of real life cars from other manufacturers rather than fantasy models. Even if Hot Wheels still can produce them, I still hope we see more replicas of real life cars. It's kinda a bummer, though. Hot Wheels and Ferrari has had a pretty long term partnership. And with no new Ferrari castings after the upcoming 599XX casting, it seems there really won't be any new Ferrari castings.

Other.

Even though I have never completed a fanfic, now I'm thinking of posting some car-related fanfic on here. Don't know what or how I would go about that, though. It's gotta be more than just car-related. It's got to have something to it. However, I know very little if anything about the mechanical stuff so I doubt it would be very good.

I don't have much to talk about this time around. I'm sorry. I will mention that Lego is going to make sets based around the upcoming Jurassic World movie. It was mentioned and revealed I forgot when, but recently, the official image showed up.

Diecast cars

So, here's an almost full list of castings for the 2015 Hot Wheels lineup. Almost because some are TBA. Here it is:  http://hotwheels.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_2015_Hot_Wheels

Hot Wheels is already on its 4th case of the 2015 lineup. Going back to my last entry, I said I was excited for the Hot Wheels Mclaren P1 or rather, it was one of the castings that I was excited about. I'm gonna expand on that. First, I'm only going to mention castings that either aren't out yet or it's unknown when they are coming. After that, I'll mention other castings. Well then, onto my thoughts...

⦁    I'm excited for the '90 Acura NSX casting
⦁    The '70 Ford Escort RS1600 will be interesting to see.
⦁    Nice to see the '63 Studebaker Champ casting back in the lineup.
⦁    The  VW Caddy(or Rabbit) is a pickup truck. It's another cool casting.
⦁    The BMW M4 casting is also nice.
⦁    the '69 Boss 302 Mustang is another nice casting.
⦁    The Lamborghini Huracan will be a nice casting as well I'm sure
⦁    I will probably try to get the latest version of the Delorean casting whenever it comes out.
⦁    Like how the Scion FR-S casting is there. Will pick that one up too. Maybe.
⦁    Like how the Honda S2000 casting is there.
⦁    The '15 Dodge Challenger SRT casting may be on my list as well.
⦁    New version of the Nissan 370Z casting. Will have to pick one up.
⦁    The Fiat 500 casting being in the Rescue segment is interesting becaus in some places,   the Fiat 500 is used as a police car.
⦁    We'll see how the Hot Wheels Tesla Model S compares to the Matchbox one.

As for the models from the 1st to 4th case(or A-D case) my favorite castings would have to be the Lamborghini Urus, the Lotus Esprit S1, the Toyota AE-86 Corolla, the Datsun 240z, the Porsche 934 Turbo RSR, the Aston Martin DBS, the Aston Martin DB5, the '10 Ford Shelby GT500, the Bentley Continental Supersports, the Porsche 911 GT3 RS, the '90 Honda Civic EF. the Ferrari 599XX and, if it is in D-case, the McLaren P1. I am not sure if the McLaren P1 casting is in D-case or E-case. I'm pretty sure D-case literally just came out, by the way.

What about Matchbox? We don't know what's in store for 2015. Ok, we know a little bit. The Tesla Model S casting I mentioned in my last entry is part of the 2015 lineup. There are some others as well.

And, another model I would like to see in the Hot Wheels lineup is the Pagani Zonda( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pagani_Zonda) especially since the Zonda's sucessor, the Huayra, has a Hot Wheels casting. I also would like to see the Aston Martin Rapide( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aston_Martin_Rapide ) in the Hot Wheels lineup.

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in some SimCity 4 stuff. Just an idea.
