-Griffin
So, I was designing cards for the YDF, and this one caused some debate. It has the potential for some pretty insane/explosive plays, and I'm wondering what people would think of it if it were designed for the much faster TCG.Parasetic EruptionQuick-Play SpellTribute 1 Monster you control that was not Summoned this turn and that has not attacked this turn. Special Summon 3 Insect-Types from your Deck whose total level is equal to the original level of the tributed Monster. In the TCG this would have some pretty crazy combos with cards like Tragoedia and Beast King Barbaros, and probably a bunch of other cheesy cards since introduced to make XYZ bosses, but with the safety clauses would it be overpowered? What Insect Decks actually exist right now, and can they make good use of swarming their low-levels with this? Would you add this to any Deck as an engine with some low-level Insects? Which ones?Of note: It must be exactly 3 and they must be exactly the total level, and it uses the original level so no crazy level change effects. Toffee.
Considering Inzektors contain a lot of Level 3s, I doubt they could use this. So that's always a thing. I mean.... Outside of Inzektors, Insects don't exactly have anything that gamebreaking, so it's not like you could grab anything that could lead to a dangerous play. Plus, given the fact that you would need something with a higher level to get monsters of any remote value, you either have to play something oddly specific OR something that was designed to make use of this. ..... Or you could be pro and play Malefics, but that just sounds sloppy.
