Elemental HERO Thunderwing

If this card declares an attack, destroy it during the End Phase of that turn. You can reveal 1 Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck that lists "Elemental HERO Sparkman" as a Fusion Material: Send this face-up card, as well as 1 Spell card from your hand and 1 other "Elemental HERO" monster from your hand/side of the field to the Graveyard, and if you do, Fusion Summon the revealed monster. This effect of "Elemental HERO Thunderwing" can only be activated once per turn.


Lets be honest... Of all the name-specific Fusions that Elemental HEROs have, Sparkman's are arguably the most fun ones to use. However, HEROs have evolved beyond the need to make Fusions with specific names; This card lets you play stuff like Shining Flare, Lightning Golem, Plasma Vice, etc, without the need to run a bunch of other dead cards.
'Course, this is a silly idea anyway/unintentionally a train wreck; Go figure.

So this can't summon Lightning Golem because that needs Dark Fusion thingy.

 

The card is cute, and basically a cheap Plasma Vice or Shining Flare, but I was surprised how bad those cards are looking back. God damn power creep - they were never great, but now they look hyper-trash.  At least having them basically be no-tribute Normal Summons might make them playable in some E-Hero Deck. Shining Flare hits hard, probably wouldn't bother with Plasma Vice because Extra Deck slots are a limited thing.

you -2 yourself to summon a Sparkman Fusion. 2 of those fusions (Plasma Vice and Thunder Giant) need you to discard a card for their effect, and Tempest needs you to send a card you control to the Graveyard so youll end up losing more cards if you choose to use their effects. i think it would be better if it didnt need a spell card, so it becomes a -1 instead of a -2.

 

besides that its a cool card. lets you use old HERO fusions.

I originally let it bypass summoning conditions. I'm thinking I should have added that.

The fact you also use a Spell is purely flavor; I guess it could go without that then, really...
