Rodrigo
Gleaming cast metal called orichalcum, which was said by Ancient Greeks to be found in Atlantis, has been recovered from a ship that sunk 2,600 years ago off the coast of Sicily. OT: I've always liked the Atlantis mystery, and I'm glad they're finding more clues. This doesn't prove anything yet, but it indeed brings us closer. Slinky
So, 1000 feet off the shore, but 10 feet deep where it was found? And it was on a ship. Why did it take so long to find this thing? Also, I don't know of any ship that is less than 30 feet tall, let alone 10 feet. Small boats maybe, but a ship? :/ This has so many holes in it. Cierfrost
So, 1000 feet off the shore, but 10 feet deep where it was found? Why did it take so long to find this thing? 1) Atlantis was a hypothetical tool used in ancient times, like The Invisible Pink Unicorn used today. 2) Because 1000ft and 10ft down is a lot larger than you'd think in terms of archaeology. Slinky
Gleaming cast metal called orichalcum, which was said by Ancient Greeks to be found in Atlantis, has been recovered from a ship that sunk 2,600 years ago off the coast of Sicily. "The wreck dates to the first half of the sixth century," Sebastiano Tusa, Sicily's superintendent of the Sea Office, told Discovery News. "It was found about 1,000 feet from Gela's coast at a depth of 10 feet." So.. we are in 2015 AD The sixth century was 500 AD if the ship sunk 2600 years ago, how does it date to the first half of the sixth century? :/
