EndUser
A dangerous surgery indeed... The boost could be something between 1000 and 1500, anymore seems too much. A really useful Spell in three situations: - When you're in great danger, so you have nothing to lose. - When you can target a monster of yours which is indestructible, so the effect basically goes "50% chance to increase the ATK". - When you have "Number 103: Ragnazero" which ensures the effectiveness of this Spell. Instead of the ATK points, specifying if the target must be to your or the opponent's monster would make it more balanced.

I'm sorry, I don't think I follow. Could you try to demonstrate what you mean?
EndUser
I'm sorry, I don't think I follow. Could you try to demonstrate what you mean? I'll try to. If there is no specific player to target, then this card can be abused by many cards that benefit from being destroyed, like Yang Zing, Shaddoll, Fire Kings and so on. Even if it only gives the ATK points, who wouldn't love to have a +2500 ATK beatstick on the field? If that amount is decreased to (let's say) 1000 or 1500, it's less threatening but still... Although most people would prefer something more straightforward, like Tribute to the Doomed, this card is more or less <benefit either way>. Will be good If you tell reasons that make this card more innocent than I present it be.
Trebuchet MS
Oh, oh, you meant allowing the card to target monsters on one side of the field rather than just being able to work on anything at any time. I personally feel that it's already enough if a luck-based card does nothing when it "fails", but giving it a downside on "failure" just makes it so much worse. Here, the "failure" in question, if you perform the surgery on your own monsters, can be mitigated or turned into a benefit if the monster does something when destroyed, or can't be destroyed at all. If you use it on the opponent's monsters, the "failure" means dealing with a monstrous ATK boost... Hmm, I see your point. The boost could be reduced to 1000-1500. It would still be usable, just not as frightening to face. Either that, or change "destroy" to "send to Graveyard" to make it less exploitable.
