LordCowCowCowCowCowCowCowCow
Sounded like he said like "Just sprayed me" or something. I dunno but from his reaction it didn't look like he was in much pain. Now, obviously, what the cop did was wrong, they weren't even really all that close and that was a huge overreaction. Police that do that shit really are terrible. But 500K for that? And suing the city itself for the actions of one person? That's pretty shitty in it's own way. Of course, I don't know if there was any actual damage done but it seems excessive on both sides.

In all seriousness, the problem isn't so much that the cop did it, it's that there will be no repercussions for it whatsoever.

But that much money from the city? Seems...wrong. Punish the cop not the city (and tax payers).
Cin
Given that the police were shouting for people to get back and he just happened to end up in the way even though he was actually warned. I don't think anything wrong really happened. Wrong place wrong time, not worth 500k.

The point is, it will send a message saying "Stop doing this shit" The money amount will be negotiated, it's not the point.
Tentacruel
It's not even (to me) that the cop used pepper spray, it's that she was being a complete pleb about it and haphazardly spraying into the wind.
Cool Girl
That's horrible! Right now, there's a lot of police brutality going on: Ferguson, Tamir Rice, Garner... Hope things get solved soon, although it's unlikely. Stats have shown that police officers are less likely to be charged with a crime, but, I'd still hope that he got what he wanted because he didn't deserve that! Tentacruel
I definitely wouldn't call this particular instance police brutality, just police negligence. I hate to stereotype or sound sexist, but I've noticed that small female cops tend to use excessive force. I mean on one hand it's understandable because people more often try to overpower them but still.
