sdkinslayer
In this thread i want to criticize and fix 2 things i have noted from YuGiOh trading card game. The first thing is, that the game creater just make cards for earning money and not for fun. Thats why the newest cards are the most time the strongest and too powerfull for the other themes. Thats why i try to make my own YuGiOh card game. I have no own programm for this till now but at least i have made some card fixes i posted here. Maybe you also want to post here some themes or cards you want to have different. The other thing is that the game miss a neccessary game mechanic. If we add lifepoints for monsters we could make the game more variable. Anyhow a Blue Eyes White Dragon should be able to put away more than a Petit Angel. So attackpoints should reduce defensivpoints (lifepoints) of monsters. Traps like Trap Hole could have damage instead of having the ability to send any monster to graveyard. We also need a new position mechanic. I would call it battle position and passiv position. As the name says in the battle position monsters fight as they do like usually just with the new battle system. In the passiv position monsters are not able to attack or beeing attacked by monsters. At this way you can hold them back for a tribute summon or giving monsters like Element Magician a chance to meet their requirements. I posted here 1 of my fixed card themes, Fortune Ladys, which are completly broken in the trading card game. Till now i have no determined basic scale for the balance of the better YuGiOh card game. Monsters 7 Fortune Lady Light [LIGHT/Spellcaster/Effect/Level 1] This card's ATK and DEF are equal to its Level x 200. During each of your Standby Phases, increase the Level of this card by 1 (max 12). When this card is removed from the field by a card effect while it was in Battle Position, Special Summon 1 "Fortune Lady" monster from your Deck. [ATK: ? / DEF: ?] Fortune Lady Fire [FIRE/Spellcaster/Effect/Level 2] This card's ATK and DEF are equal to its Level x 200. During each of your Standby Phases, increase the Level of this card by 1 (max 12). When this card is Special Summoned in Battle Position by the effect of a "Fortune Lady" monster card, banish 1 face-up monster on your opponent's side of the field. When this card is removed from the field by the effect of a card while it was in Battle Position destroy 1 face-up monster on your opponent's side of the field. [ATK: ? / DEF: ?] Fortune Lady Wind [WIND/Spellcaster/Effect/Level 3] This card's ATK and DEF are equal to its Level x 300. During each of your Standby Phases, increase the Level of this card by 1 (max 12). When this card is summoned in Battle Position, you can destroy 1 Spell or Trap Card your opponent controls. [ATK: ? / DEF: ?] Fortune Lady Water [WATER/Spellcaster/Effect/Level 4] This card's ATK and DEF are equal to its Level x 300. During each of your Standby Phases, increase the Level of this card by 1 (max 12). When this card is summoned in Battle Position, add 1 "Fortune Lady" Spell or Trap Card from your deck to your hand. [ATK: ? / DEF: ?] Fortune Lady Dark [DARK/Spellcaster/Effect/Level 5] This card's ATK and DEF are equal to its Level x 400. During each of your Standby Phases, increase the Level of this card by 1 (max 12). When this card destroys a opponent's monster by battle and sends it to Graveyard, you can Special Summon a "Fortune Lady" from your Deck or Graveyard. While "Future Vision" is on the Field, this card can be Special Summoned (from Hand) by tributing a "Fortune Lady" you control. If this card attacks an opponent's monster it gains 1000 ATK during the damage step. This card causes halved damage to Life Points. [ATK: ? / DEF: ?] Fortune Lady Earth [EARTH/Spellcaster/Effect/Level 6] This card's ATK and DEF are equal to its Level x 400. During each of your Standby Phases, increase the Level of this card by 1 (max 12). When this card is tribute summoned by tributing a "Fortune Lady", you can special summon a "Fortune Laddy" from your graveyard or deck. [ATK: ? / DEF: ?] Soltaire Magician [LIGHT/Spellcaster/Effect/Level 4] This card is treated as "Fortune Lady". Further effects ? [ATK: 1600 / DEF: 1300] Spell and Traps 7 Future Visions [Spell Card/Field] When a monster is Normal Summoned, remove from play that monster. During the next Standby Phase of the controller who Summoned that monster, return it to the field in face-up Attack Position. "Fortune Lady Earth", "Fortune Lady Dark" and "Soltaire Magician" are not affected by this card. Fortune's Future [Spell Card] Add 2 "Fortune Lady" Spell or Trap Cards from your Deck to your Hand, except Fortune's Future. Time Passage {Spell Card/Quick] After activating chose one of these effects: Banish 1 face-up "Fortune Lady" monster you control until the End Phase. Increase the Level of 1 face-up "Fortune Lady" monster you control by 3 until the End Phase. Inherited Fortune [Trap Card] When an opponent's monster attacks, negate the attack discard 1 card and add 1 "Fortune Lady" monster card from your deck to your hand. Slip of Fortune [Trap Card] Activate only when your opponent monster declares an attack targeting a monster. Negate the attack and remove from play the attack target monster until the next Standby Phase. Bending Destiny [Trap Card/Counter] Activate only if you control at least 1 "Fortune Lady" monster. Negate the activation of a Spell or Trap Card, or the Normal Summon of a monster, and remove that card from play. The card removed from play by this effect is returned to its owner's hand during the End Phase. Magical Dimension [Spell Card/Quick] If you control a face-up Spellcaster Type monster: Target 1 monster you control: Tribute it, then Special Summon 1 Spellcaster-Type monster from your hand, then you can destroy 1 monster on the field. Slinky
I posted here 1 of my fixed card themes, Fortune Ladys, which are completly broken in the trading card game I'm pretty sure we can all agree on the first point. The second point is absolutely terrible, we don't need something like that in the game. The third point is even /worse/. It is a staller's dream. As for the actual cards, your wording is absolutely terrible. wtf is this "battle position". And you keep referencing "Fortune Lady Spells/Traps" but there aren't any "Fortune Lady" spells/traps. Trebuchet MS
Monsters taking damage? A position where they can't participate in battle? Sounds waaaay too close to MtG for comfort. You'd might as well establish a mana system.
sdkinslayer
So you like my ideas and agree with it. I already thought about a Manasystem but there is no place for it in Yugioh. Magic would need a fix in his Manasystem. Post your ideas and fixed cards.
Trebuchet MS
So you like my ideas and agree with it. ...Magic would need a fix in his Manasystem. Wrong on both points, and your credibility got annihilated too fast for the stack to handle.
sdkinslayer
I know you have to negate that you agree my statement. So it doesnt matter how often you write it i know you and all the others would prefer it.

How will you make the opponent take damage if they have a passive position monster? Burn decks?

And if your indication of a fixed game is a spell card with no cost adding 2 spells/traps to your hand, then you can kindly get out.
