Lore:Discard 1 Trap card; Negate the activation of a Trap card your opponent controls and destroy it. Neither player can activate cards with the same name for the rest of the Duel.

 

Just simply a Cursed Seal of the Forbidden Spell for Traps in case of Vanity's Emptiness or Skill Drain. I made sure to balance it with the fact that neither player can activate it, so if you stop a Vanity, then you can't use Vanity either, but I worry that the Discard effect would be broken because of Shaddolls and Burning Abyss, but really...screw those guys. 

 

EDIT: Yeah, the Discard 2 cards effect was not exactly the best of ideas. Changed it to the Discard 1 Trap card effect.

I cant see why we shoul run this over wiretap or trap stun...i mean, which traps rly deserve to be countered so hard? Fire lake? perhaps the best target for this, but ba doesnt revolve only arouns that card. Tellarnova alpha? Pretty much the same reasons as the above. also its cost is rly high, its not like dropping a dead spell like gen fusion or wtv you dont mind wasting. traps r rly important to win games (especially when it comes to meta duels) so i wouldnt want to waste 2 traps to negate only 1

Mainly the traps i had intended for this to counter was Vanity's Emptiness, Skill Drain, and the aforementioned traps you mentioned. alternatively it can be used for D-Prison, Mirror Force, Royal Decree etc. However, i will concede that i really do not have a great idea as to what the cost should be. First i had discard 2 cards, but BA and Shaddolls can abuse that, then there was Discard a Trap, but that seems a bit much. Any ideas as to how to fix the cost to make this worth it? Maybe Send a Trap from the deck to the Grave? maybe Banish 1 card in your hand? Maybe tribute 1 monster?

Hmm..i dont think change the cost would be a good idea. It would make the card lose its original characteristic. Maybe improve the effect to banish all cards with the same name from each players deck, grave, field? Or even inflict dmg for each card banished by this eff

Well, the first one i am not much of a fan of because i felt that the other consequence brought on by Cursed Seal is that if you draw the negated spell, you essentially dead drawed. The second one i can be for. Maybe the cost could be x500 for each card banished. Alternatively, i was thinking that maybe the second clause could be like a Breakthrough Skill esque effect where if it is in the grave, then it acts like a Trap Stun for banishing it from the grave, but no cannot use for the rest of the duel effect.
