When this card inflicts battle damage to your opponent: Gain LP equal to the battle damage inflicted. Each time you gain LP, this card gains 500 ATK.
I looked at MtG's lifelink mechanic and wondered why we don't have things like this in Yugioh. Then I realized we do have a few things like that but they don't grant extra benefits past static LP gain.

So I decided to have this card synergize with its own gimmick by having it grow bigger each time at the end of each turn where you gain life - something that happens very frequently as the very act of attacking with this card will net you some life gain unless your opponent is turtling very hard.

At the moment, it looks rather mediocre without any self-protection or any immediate card advantage. It just swings and swings and grows and grows. Earlier drafts of this had this card gain ATK equal to half the LP you gained, meaning it shoots up to a nasty 2700 ATK if it lands a direct attack, something I feel even a lack of protection cannot justify. Also, since LP gain numbers are much bigger than burn, this card could reach frightening ATK scores with the right cards while not even needing any other setup.

I plan to expand on this to create an archetype, but until I think of other good ideas involving interacting with life gain, it'll just be this card for the moment.

I agree; it's a fairly good card as it is-and is nicely designed. Not all monsters have some kind of protection, but it doesn't mean they are of no use.

Also, it's not necessarily about abusing the card; the archetype could activate some general effects instead.

A couple of example effects:

<At the End Phase of the turn you gained Life Points because of a "Sanguine/Leech" monster's effect, if you have 1 or less cards in your hand: Draw 1 card.>

<During your Battle Phase, if you gain Life Points because of a "Sanguine/Leech" monster's effect, you can decrease the ATK and DEF of a monster your opponent controls by 300. You can only activate this effect once per turn.>

(The reason I say both "Sanguine" and "Leech" is because I don't know which is the achetype you're referring at.)

I like this card, but in a dedicated life gain deck, this guy can get really scary, really fast. I have a deck that could get this guy to 2800 (or higher) the turn after you summon it without ever attacking. By itself, I think it works, because opp would see it and hit it with eff removal asap, but in an archetype of sanguines...inside a dedicated LP gain Deck...sweet Jesus...this could be scary

EDIT: All of that being said...I'd like to collab with you on this...would that be cool?

That scary part is what worries me. Most LP gain decks go for the limited card pool (with almost static LP gain for long term gain). And yes this card is brilliant as is.

What worries me though like an above poster is an archetype. But I'd be impressed if it were to work out.
