Trebuchet MS
1 "Scrap" Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters Once per turn: You can target 1 card you control; destroy it, and if you do, draw 1 card. When this card is destroyed by your opponent's card (either by battle or by card effect): Target 1 non-Synchro "Scrap" monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target.
I felt like I cheated a little by creating a Scrap Synchro monster to fulfill the "When this card is destroyed etc" condition. But hey, something that would fit its home theme and pattern is better than something else that looks like it had the effect tacked on to fulfill the condition, right? Scraps don't exactly have much in the way of decent LV7s besides the generic stuff, so I decided to create a special Synchro for them for that Level. Gives them something decent to make using Chimera + Goblin. But what to go on its main effect? Dragon blows things up, Twin Dragon bounces things, Atomic messes with the Graveyard. So I settled with card draw. But everyone would love card draw, especially in this format where very few cards seem to mind getting blown up. So I made it require a Scrap Tuner at the very least to show that it's not for everyone. I was confronted with 3 ways to employ the effect: Simple card draw - the one you see now Draw then discard Draw then shuffle in - the contest entry version I was concerned with what potential the first two options had, given the way Scraps combo off each other, especially when Graveyard setup is also factored in. Hence the contest entry had the third, watered down version, but I've been told that it's okay to throw the Scraps a bone and let them have the +1. evawin
A Level 7 effect Scrap synchro? Praise Jesus. I dig the self-destruction effect since it would have been easy to make Scrap Dragon "pop 1 and 1" except as a level 7. However, I think it would be better to have it target 1 monster instead of just 1 card.
