Activate only if you control no Special Summoned monstersNegate the effects of all Special Summoned monsters during the turn they are Special Summoned. If an Effect Monster(s) is Special Summoned in Attack Position: Change them to Defense Position.

So if/when Skill Drain gets hit, this is likely to become its replacement.

I like how this only needs you to flip it if you don't control anything that was Special'd, but afterwords you are free to summon everything.

Though, with regards to Drain- You would have to end up Summoning your stuff in Defense, assuming you made a deck around This card.

Well in some decks the Defense Position thing won't be much of a problem. In Qli, your bosses are Tribute Summoned, so they won't be affected by this at all. You could even bounce this with Stealth then Pendulum Summon and go for game. Since Skill Drain is only used in Qli of all the relevant decks, I'm thinking about the applications specifically in said deck. Not saying this is anything like as good as Drain, but its definitely a good enough replacement. I think of it more like a better Re-qliate.

Calling it a replacement for Skill Drain is overstepping the mark just a little bit. It's much more specifically good against certain decks unlike Skill Drain which is good against everything, it's actualy garbage against stuff like Yosenju which Skill Drain is otherwise good against and it does hurt a deck like Qliphort more than Skill Drain does, you'd rather not bounce your own card with Stealth and you normally win by Pendulum Summoning.
