Horu
Chaos Summoning is inspired by the Chaos monsters. The card should half black/white to represent conflicting elements. The stars spread out from the center to represent a new creation as a result of this conflict. Kinda how when lava cools when it comes into contact with water and creates new land. Chaos monsters go into the Extra Deck. A Chaos Summon can be performed when you have 2 monsters of opposing attributes. A good example would be if you control both Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning and Chaos Emperor Dragon - Envoy of the End. You could Banish them to summon the appropriate Chaos monster. Generally both monsters have to be the same level and have to have conflicting attributes. Any combination of attributes can work as long as none of the monsters used have the same attribute.
Name: Sandstorm Dragon Attribute: Earth Class: 3 Type: Dragon/Chaos/Effect ATK/DEF: 1900/2350 Giant Soldier of Stone + Baby Dragon When this card is successfully Chaos Summoned; place 1 Sandstorm Counter on it for each face-up monster your opponent controls. This card gains 300 ATK and DEF for each Sandstorm Counter on it. During your opponent's Draw Phase; this card is switched to Defense Position. When your opponent activates an effect that would remove a monster(s) you control from the field, you can remove 1 Sandstorm Counter from this card: Apply the effect your opponent activated as if you controlled it. When the number of Sandstorm Counters on this card reaches 0: Destroy it and Special Summon 1 Level 3 EARTH monster from your hand or Deck. Name: Millennium Dragon Knight Attribute: Wind Class: 7 Type: Dragon/Chaos/Effect ATK/DEF: 3550/3100 Thousand Dragon + Gaia the Fierce Knight When this card is successfully Chaos Summoned; it gains 1 Millennium Counter for each card in your hand. Once per turn, during your Battle Phase, you can remove 1 Millennium Counter from this card: This card can attack twice.
Chiz Fri
Could you make an example card? Or perhaps explain how a Chaos Summon would be performed? It's an interesting idea, but how would it be utilized in-game?
Horu
I'll give some examples later to give you a better idea of how the mechanic works.
Horu
Edited the example card.
Neutrality Man
The concept is interesting. Sort of like Fusion being taken extremely literally. Â As a present, I made the example card in Paint.Net for you.
Lyme
The idea has potential but judging from the example card it seems identical to a contact fusion, if a new extra deck monster were to be released, I imagine it would need to introduce a fresh new mechanic. Horu
I like the idea. Chaos Summoning requires 2 monsters of opposing attributes as mentioned above.
Horu
Edited Sandstorm Dragon
Horu
Added Millennium Dragon Knight. These are still experimental cards and they can change depending on cards I make in the future.
daimenblutar
It could be like hand or deck contact fuse instead, or you have to contact fuse by returning the banished cards listed to the deck (which makes sense as Chaos monsters like Envoy of the Beginning need to banish)
