3 Level 11 Monsters
You can also Xyz Summon this card by using a Rank 10 EARTH Machine-Type Monster you control as the Xyz Material (Xyz Materials attached to that monster also become Xyz Materials on this card.) Once per chain, during your turn, you can detach two Xyz Materials from this card; reveal one random card in your opponents hand, then you can shuffle it into the deck (this is a quick effect). You can only use this effect of "CXyz Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Gerat Supreme" once per turn. If this card is sent to the graveyard: Target one level 4 or higher EARTH Machine-Type Monster with 1800 or more ATK in your graveyard, except this card; return that target to the hand.

I like trains. In fact, it's my favorite "archetype". Problem is, they're not exactly competitive. Decent, sure, but hardly meta. I decided that Trains need some love, so I came up with a few Train support cards. Trains are all about their boss monsters, so I started out by giving them a new one.
 
Sick of having a Fiendish Chained/Zerofyned/etc. Gustav Max? Problem solved!
 
What I had in mind is that you can use this card similar to Downerd Magician for Dante. You detach one from Gustav, burn for 2k, then hotswap into this monster, and kill your opponents hand advantage. The hard once per turn Confiscation, I felt, was powerful, but I hope it isn't too powerful. Considering it takes two monsters to make this one, the actual hand advantage ended up being neutral. Besides, you can only use the effect of a particular Gerat once, because how in the world do get one with more than two Xyz Materials? I guess overlay it onto a Galaxy Destroyer, then use that one spell, but meh. Not really worth the effort. What could situationally be better is if you decide you'd rather your opponent keep the card; for example, you reveal a Wulf or a Stardust/Assault Mode or the like. I made it a quick effect because f*** bottomless, torrential, etc. Trap cards seriously hurt Trains, and I felt giving this guy a way to combat that wasn't out of line.  
 
3k stats are tough, but hardly insurmountable anymore, and it has no built-in protection of any kind. I feel that the graveyard retrieval helps you recover, which is something Trains struggle with as the duel drags on. Losing your field to a Mirror Force really bites, and can be gg a lot of the time.
 
So, yeah, for a first post I hope this one isn't terrible :P Opinions wanted, etc etc.

This is cool, but when I first started reading this, I thought you were going to keep with the theme of Gustav a bit. That said, you should be able to Special Summon that Level 4 and if the revealed card is a monster, your opponent takes damage equal to whatever of your choosing.

There's not much of a Gustav theme to follow, seeing as how there's only one Gustav card in the game :/ The only other Superdreadnought card in the game (which hasn't been released yet in the TCG) has nothing to do with burn damage either, so I was following that theme. Basically, the Trains are rather versatile, so a card that helps maintain hand advantage helps round out the archetype. Burn damage isn't really what I had in mind, but I guess it wouldn't hurt.

 

Special summoning the card from the GY instead of adding it to the hand is an idea. Not sure which one's better tbh.

So the ideal play would be go for Gustav, use that eff, then make this guy and maintain hand control. Simple enough, but i feel this is rather under powered considering Satellarknight Triverr exists who can use his effect up to 3 times, while this can use it once, but I don't feel it needs to be changed either considering that this is essentially a summon able nerfed Forceful Sentry, one of the best spells in the game. No need to go overboard with it, so I do like it a lot, and I may consider running 3 if I could, but 2 would be best. Adds some combo abilities to trains, and i am for this

Even with only one card to go by for a theme, the C-#'s and C-Xyz's always followed at least a little close to the effect of their previous monster. For instance, Cxyz Skypalace Babylon went from detaching 1 material to destroy a monster and deal damage, to destroying a monster in battle and dealing damage. C101 went off of 101 and kept the material-jacking effect, and C107 went off of the effect negation effect.

With this in mind, your CXyz Gustav is very dis-similar to the original monster's effect. But, I will keep in mind that this is more of a generic CXyz. So looking at the two Rank 10 Earth Machines, we got Gustav and Dora. Looking at effects and stats, it wouldn't be a stretch to say that Gustav is the sword and Dora is the shield. If you can think of a way that kind of meets a middle ground between those two, that could work.

I was thinking of getting rid of the CXyz thing altogether. As VCR Cat said, I wasn't intending this to be a rank-up of Gustav specifically; it was a generic Train Rank-up, but I can see how that may not be clear. Getting rid of it doesn't really hurt anything either.

 

Hand advantage is something the Trains struggle with somewhat, so I was using this card to bridge that gap and give them some means to recover if things go wrong. I'd like to keep that sort of theme, so more ideas are welcome on that front.

Well, hand-advantage is irrelevant if you can make a Dora with one card in hand if Train Ravine is on the field. After playing the deck for a long time, I've come to know that the problem isn't hand advantage or toolbox (it has a FANTASTIC toolbox), the problem is overall consistency. They need either one more searcher, or another level 10 that is searchable and stable to summon (like Night Express Knight). So maybe have that in mind?
