I am a bit interested in machines so I decided to start a small project. I am starting a new archetype "Heavy Mech" which is composed of "Fire/Machine" type monsters. I am currently working on other cards and trying to determine what this archetype's purpose will be. Feedbacks wanted :((
Trebuchet MS
2 Level 4 FIRE Machine-Type monsters During either player's turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; to apply the following effect, depending on its battle position. *Attack Position: All "Heavy Mech" monsters you control gain 200 ATK and DEF. This effect is permanent. *Defense Position: All "Heavy Mech" monsters you control lose 1000 ATK but cannot be destroyed by battle this turn. Both effects are rather mediocre. First effect ticks the monster itself up to an acceptable 2400 ATK but ultimately proves to be weaker than many other generic Rank 4 Xyz monsters. Even Giga-Brilliant does better. Second effect looks like something on a Quick Effect, seeing that you want to use it defensively, so I gave the entire effect the "during either player's turn" clause to allow you to use the card defensively and to make that first effect not completely outclassed by Giga-Brilliant. When stat changes don't have a specified expiration point, they are assumed to last until the affected card stops being face-up on the field. This means that the 1000 ATK drop is going to bite and is largely not worth the temporary immunity to battle. All in all, a pretty mediocre card, since the various other Rank 4 monsters without specific materials can outclass this. You may want to start designing your archetype from how it wants to play. This will result in less redundancy or falling into the Genex's problem of "trying to do too many things at once".
Vorpalblada
Well, my deck should be focusing on a Machine beatdown playstyle with high ATK while maintain Hand advantage. So I kinda buffed it up a little bit, so now it has 2700 ATK and 0 DEF. 2 Level 4 FIRE MACHINE-type monsters Rank 4 MACHINE/XYZ/EFFECT ATK/DEF: 2700/0 Detach a XYZ Material from this card to apply the following effect, depending on its battle position: Attack Position: All "Heavy Mech" monsters you control gain 400 ATK and DEF. This effect remains until the Duel is over. Defense Position: All "Heavy Mech" monsters you control cannot be destroyed by battle this turn.
