Premier Alexander Romanov
Margrapevine EARTH/Plant/Effect/Level 3/600 ATK/800 DEF If you control no monsters, you can Special Summon this card (from your hand). This card can be treated as 2 Tributes for the Tribute Summon of a Plant-Type monster. Garde Knight EARTH/Warrior/Effect/Level 3/100 ATK/2000 DEF When this card is Normal Summoned, if you control a face-up Plant-Type monster: You can send 1 Plant-Type monster from your Deck to the Graveyard; add 1 Plant-Type monster from your Deck to your hand. You can only use this effect of a "Garde Knight" once per turn. You take no battle damage from battles involving Plant-Type monsters you control. Discuss. Dad
Let's start with Margrapevine. Margrapevine EARTH/Plant/Effect/Level 3/600 ATK/800 DEF If you control no monsters, you can Special Summon this card (from your hand). Okay! A Cyber Dragon for plants! Nice. I'm on board so far. Margrapevine EARTH/Plant/Effect/Level 3/600 ATK/800 DEF If you control no monsters, you can Special Summon this card (from your hand). This card can be treated as 2 Tributes for the Tribute Summon of a Plant-Type monster. Hold on now cowboy, that's uh, kinda scary. It's type specific, but if you draw this on your first turn (and at lvl 3 I'd probably run 3 of these) you've got some monster, scoop worthy opening plays. I think this needs to be toned down a bit. Perhaps limiting the monster tribute summoned by Margrapevine's effect if it is Special Summoned by it's own effect. This is a bigger Cyber Dragon. xD Okay, so about the other dude. This card is a gem. I'm feeling this a lot. It's once per turn, so it's not an immediate game over. Allows for counterplay. It manipulates Graveyard, Deck, and Hand, but only triggers on summoning (if I'm reading that right). And I could totally picture a little plant knight with like, a rose pedal shield. It's cute as fuck. No battle damage. I'm okay with this. Feels strong, but makes this card a target your opponent wants to get rid of. My favorite of the two.
VCR_CAT
Garde Knight is actually a very cool card, it just has a bit of a scary effect. Thankfully, it doesn't mean a game-over; but knowing how many plant-type monsters that a plant deck would love to have in the grave makes this card a 3-of in almost any plant deck. Granted, I'm not exactly in a position to say if it's OP or not simply because I would need to play test many of its potential combos to see if it breaks the game. Right now, it's REALLY good in the point where it looks like it MIGHT break the game, but I don't think it would. Depending its effect on Normal Summon and giving a OPT clause really helps keep the card balanced. As for Mar, I agree with Dad in that you might want to throw in some form of limitation, because there are quite a few two-tribute plant monsters that could break a game that early.Otherwise, good work! Love of Ghibli
Rose Lover does Margrapevine's job better than Margrapevine...in fact rarely should you actually be trying to Normal Summon plant princesses. They're plants, they have so much revival and ssing from the deck that the thought of Normal Summoning one should only happen you're forced to not Special Summon in some weird way. However what is weird is that Margrapevine is an easily summonable level 3 EARTH meaning it clearly is meant to go with Meliae...meh that's not that impressive especially since its opening play and you probably won't have a plant princess live in that manner. Garde Knight....NOOOOOO One cannot put Foolish Burial and ROTA on a monster then give that monster ANOTHER effect. As it stands it does too much. Mill ANY plant and search ANY plant. At its very least effective it gets rose lover in the grave and a princess in hand. The no battle damage seems like its just tacked on to make up for the fact that it would have to be in attack mode in order for this effect to even happen at any point its just bad.
