Because Raidraptors Need An Offensize Xyz [Raidraptor - Blitzkrieg Cathar] (Written)

Recommended Posts

Raidraptor - Blitzkrieg Cathar
DARK/Winged Beast/Xyz/Effect/Rank 5/500 ATK/2500 DEF
2 Level 5 monsters
You can also Xyz Summon this card by using a "Raidraptor" Xyz Monster you control as the Xyz Material, other than "Raidraptor - Blitzkrieg Cathar". (Xyz Materials attached to that monster also become Xyz Materials on this card.) If you do, its effects cannot be activated this turn. You can only Xyz Summon 1 "Raidraptor - Blitzkrieg Cathar" once per turn this way. This card gains 1000 ATK for each Xyz Material attached to it. If a "Raidraptor" monster(s) you control would be destroyed, you can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card instead. During your Main Phase, if this card was Special Summoned this turn: You can target 1 Special Summoned monster your opponent controls; activate the appropriate effect(s), depending on the targeted monster.

● Effect Monster: Its effects are negated until your opponent's next End Phase.

● Ritual Monster: Draw 2 cards.
● Fusion Monster: Its current ATK and DEF become 0.

● Synchro Monster: During your next Battle Phase, if this card attacks, your opponent cannot activate cards or effects until the end of the Damage Step.

● Xyz Monster: Detach any Xyz Material(s) attached to the target and attach them to this card as Xyz Material(s).

● Pendulum Monster: Your opponent cannot Pendulum Summon during their next turn.

I saw this card written in YCM wiki. So you're the one made that eh?

So if you target Odd-Eyes Rebellion Dragon with Blitzkrieg Cathar's last effect, you negate Rebellion Dragon's effects, detach all of its Xyz Materials and your opponent cannot Pendulum Summon? Damn.

This card would be perfect for Shun against Academia in ARC-V, since it negates Fusion monster's effects AND makes its ATK and DEF 0.

The text won't even fit into the card lore though. :P

Yep. Not many people know this around here, but I run the Yu-Gi-Oh! Custom Wikia, aka the YCM Wiki.
Mainly because they don't really care about it.

But yes, my idea when coming up with the effects was what would be the worst thing to do to each summoning type, and what would Shun want in his card?

Effect was easy, since negating the effects would make them useless.

Ritual, since they tend to use the most resources in their Summoning, would not benefit from their opponents getting more cards.

Fusion, of course, was easy. Shun hates them the most, and they tend to be beefy, so make them utterly worthless.

For Synchros, they tend to use Quick Effects and tend to have more support than other summoning methods, so giving Cathar a Citrine effect seemed logical.

Xyzs were also easy. As an Xyz user, Shun would know that the best way to take care of an Xyz Monster would be the Xyz Materials.

And finally for Pendulums, those decks, as Shun and others in Arc-V are learning, require interconnectivity between the Pendulum Monsters. Removing their ability to recur, even for a turn, brings the deck to a screeching halt for that turn.

Just realized that with Force Strix this becomes a generic 3500 ATK Rank 4 with built-in protection. Is that ok with you?

Considering it has a couple key drawbacks, yes.

First is that the protection effect is a reverse Lead Yoke. The more it uses the effect, the more ATK it loses, meaning, after a couple uses, unless the Xyz Materials are somehow replenished, it will be useless as a beater.

Second is that the protection effect cannot activate during the turn it was CXC'd from Force Strix, meaning it becomes vulnerable to anything the opponent can use to stop it during that one turn.
