Because why not [Deadly Venom Swamp]

This card's name becomes "Venom Swamp" while it is face-up on the field. During your Standby Phase: Target 1 face-up monster on the field with at least 1 Venom Counter on it; Destroy that target. Monsters lose 500 ATK for each Venom Counter on them. Destroy any monster whose ATK reaches 0 as a result of this effect. Once per turn: You can target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls: Place 1 Venom Counter on it for each face-up "Venom" monster you control. All "Venom" monsters you control gain 300 ATK and DEF for each Venom Counter on the field.

 

Venom was always one of the more interesting archetypes, but I always felt that Venom Swamp was rather underwhelming considering it's exactly what makes the Deck work, so I made this upgraded version.

Venoms would preferably like more durable monsters and the means to weaken the opponent's monsters without anything named Venom Swamp. The inherent issue with them is that Venom Counters do nothing on their own, thus the archetype has to protect Venom Swamp with their very lives.

 

But it's not like this was an effort in vain or anything. The fact that Venom monsters get stronger while the opponent's ones drastically weaken means a single Venom Counter can mean a 800 ATK shift. This becomes really significant once ATK scores cross 2000.

 

Don't forget - wiping out monsters means that you also remove the boost from your Venom monsters. Considering that we're stacking 1-3 counters per turn just from this card alone, and that this card will destroy at least 1 poisoned monster per turn, you'd have to pick your targets carefully to keep the boost. (or just keep a 0 ATK monster as Venom Counter storage)

 

All in all, pretty decent. Would run in tandem with original Venom Swamp just to make the Counters do something more often.
