0PxPz0 Posted May 24, 2015 Report Share Posted May 24, 2015 this page is to explain my concept of monsters with negative levels if your reading this you thought it was cool and want to make some, please keep these rules i call "Negative Law" in mind 1. they have the sub-type of "Negative" 2. their description must include that their level is treated as -X (the "X" being their level) 3. any "Negative" monster that is not in your extra deck (i.e. synchro, fusion, Xyz) can (usually) be special summon from your hand by banishing a monster with the same type and an equivalent positive level (so if it's a -7 fiend then banish a 7 fiend ) this rule can be best applied with rule 4 for an exception look at my god counter parts link below (this is no longer a thing but if you want to make a negative archetype that uses this i'd love to see it) 4. a "Negative" monster is usually made to be an evil version of an already existing card, example my "Light Magician" is a dark magician counterpart, same atk and def, equivalent level (-7 instead of 7) same type (spellcaster) but the opposite attribute (light instead of dark) this rule is more for people who want to make "Negative" cards but is not necessary 5. "Negative" monsters can only attack or be attacked by other negative monsters (it's meant to be a matter vs. anti-matter type thing) but can attack directly if your opponent controls no "Negative" monsters, same for them if all you control are "Negative" and all they control are regular monsters (rule 5 currently in progress please leave suggestions/criticisms) 6. if you follow rule 4 and the monster you based it on has an effect, give your "Negative" monster the inverse of that eff or an eff that negates it. 7. Xyz use negative levels because they have negative ranks, synchros need to have the levels equal there still so the monsters must be negative or a combo with positive levels to equal the synchros negative fusions don't really matter but i guess you could make some kind of "Negative polymerization" if you want 8. if a negative gets attacked while face-down by a positive (as they can still be normal summoned/set) rule 5 is not applied (still in progress) (negative gods link http://forum.yugiohcardmaker.net/topic/330716-nega-gods/ ) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
~~~~ Posted May 25, 2015 Report Share Posted May 25, 2015 I have been thinking about this for some time, but only in relation to Dark Synchros. I wanted to run some Dark Synchros, but didn't like the way in the anime they needed a specific type of Tuner, a Dark Tuner. To me it would be better if it just used Tuners, but subtracted the levels instead of adding them. I really wanted to have a Level 0 Synchro that could only be made using negative Levels. I actually quite like the attempt to standardise rules for these, and I like your 1, 2 and 7 rules, but I find the others to be a bit specific (like why not just make some Negative Monsters that follow 3, 4 and 6 as a theme for them, without those rules having to apply to all Negative Monsters). I think No. 5 is probably too abusable, since if you are using Negatives, it is unlikely for your opponent to be using them also, but you can still use "Positive Monsters" to block their direct attacks. Also matter and anti-matter are capable of interacting, they will annihilate each other and turn into energy if they make contact. You could fit that into the rules, but personally I think it would be a bit gimmicky. Having negative levels, and all the things you can do with Synchro Summoning is interesting enough, maybe?
