Seanoow
Well, needless to say I got side tracked, but I am finally uploading my awaited Deck Master set. I am open to any comments and criticisms about the cards and rules that will directly affect the way the meta may or may not be changed. I will also be introducing a new card type "Field Traps" which are set in the Field card zone and cannot be activated the turn they are set. With that out of the way, here are some basic alpha rules for Deck Masters (will more than likely be updated a few times): Once per turn, you may summon your deck master from your DM zone, this will be treated as an extra normal summon that can be done as well as your standard 1 normal summon per turn. Once per turn, if you have not summoned or attacked with your DM, you can return them to the DM zone. (Not a quick effect). If a DM is destroyed by battle, the duelist who's DM was destroyed loses the duel. If a DM is destroyed or removed from the field in any way by a card effect, the duel continues as normal. With that out of the way, I have 3 "Master of the" cards that have practically the same effects, I am planning on giving each of them their own flavor in the future.Well, it's finally time. Let the Deck Master Set be REVEALED!Activate only while your deck master is in your deck master zone when your opponent activates a monster effect. Special summon your deck master, it immediately attacks your opponent's monster that activated it's effect. Your deck master can not be targeted or destroyed by that cards effect. Any battle damage your opponent takes from that battle is doubled.Once per turn by paying 1000 lifepoints, you can prevent this card from being destroyed. If your deck master is "Dark Magician", whenever it is summoned to your side of the field it gains attack equal to half it's original attack. If your deck master "Dark Magician" is targeted by an effect you can banish this card, negate that effect and destroy that card, then you can send your deck master "Dark Magician" to your deck master zone.Once per turn by paying 1000 lifepoints, you can prevent this card from being destroyed. If your deck master is "Blue-Eyes White Dragon", whenever it is summoned to your side of the field it gains attack equal to half it's original attack. If your deck master "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" is targeted by an effect you can banish this card, negate that effect and destroy that card, then you can send your deck master "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" to your deck master zone.Pay half your lifepoints, if both players deck masters are in the deck master zone, switch your deck master with your opponent's. Then, both you and your opponent must summon your new deck masters. Your opponent takes no battle damage from battles involving the monster you gave them, and that monster can not be destroyed or returned to the deck master zone until your opponent's second standby phase after this card is activated. You can not return your new deck master to your deck master zone.Once per turn by paying 1000 lifepoints, you can prevent this card from being destroyed. If your deck master is "Red-Eyes B. Dragon", whenever it is summoned to your side of the field it gains attack equal to half it's original attack. If your deck master "Red-Eyes B. Dragon" is targeted by an effect you can banish this card, negate that effect and destroy that card, then you can send your deck master "Red-Eyes B. Dragon" to your deck master zone.Activate only if you have 3000 or less life points and control only one monster when your opponent declares an attack. Tribute that monster you control, summon your deck master and double its original attack, then change the target of your opponent's attack to your deck master. If you summon your deck master using this card you can not return your deck master to the deck master zone. During your third end phase after activating this card, you lose lifepoints equal to your deck master's current attack.-You can activate this card when a deck master is summoned.-Monsters being treated as deck masters increase their attack and defense by 800. Once per turn, if a deck master would be destroyed by battle, it is not. Deck masters can not attack your opponent directly and can only attack every other turn. Once per turn, if your deck master can attack this turn, you can destroy all monsters your opponent controls that have less attack than your deck master's defense, this effect can not destroy deck masters. Your deck master can not declare an attack or be returned to the deck master zone if you use this effect.Banish from your hand or deck 1 "The Claw of Hermos", "The Fang of Critias", or "The Eye of Timaeus". Special summon 1 monster from your extra deck that lists the banished card as a fusion material. (This summon is treated as a fusion summon). That monster is now your deck master. A monster summoned by this card's effect is unaffected by other card effects until your opponent's end phase. When a spell/trap, or monster effect controlled by your opponent is activated while your deck master is on your side of the field, negate that card's effects and destroy it.-If your deck master is a fusion monster that lists "The Eye of Timaeus", "The Claw of Hermos", or "The Fang of Critias" as a fusion material, destroy all cards your opponent controls. When your deck master destroys an opponent's monster by battle, activate one of the following effects:-Draw 1 card.-Gain 1500 lifepoints-Target 1 spell/trap card on the field, destroy it.-Banish one card from your deck face-down, during your 3rd standby phase, add that card to your hand.-Immediately return your deck master to your deck master zone.Activate while your deck master is on your side of the field, immediately return your deck master to your deck master zone, then gain lifepoints equal to your deck master's defense. You can not activate any spell or trap cards during your next turn, except "Deck Master" cards, and "Master of Dueling".Activate if you would receive damage greater than your deck master's attack while your deck master is in your deck master zone.-Pay half your life points, you take no damage from that effect or battle. Then summon your deck master in face-up attack position. Your deck master can not be destroyed by battle until the end phase of this turn. You can not return your deck master to your deck master zone, even with a card effect. During your third end phase after activating this card you lose the duel. Dramatic Crossroad
I think the mechanics and rulings behind Deck Masters were too gimmicky to anyone and try to implement them. (also, a ton of the new players would not bother watching the original series, i mean DM, to actually know what deck masters are). From what i see, these are not exclusively original or inspired. The idea of DMs were to support the actual player's deck, not the other way around. (all the squished and warped screenshots and fan-arts you used for the cards make my eyes bleed). Sorry for the harsh words, but ... well, try inventing something else and don't give up :)
